TAPEROO RESERVE Project Update What we heard from the community In September 2014 the City of Port Adelaide Enfield consulted with the community about a proposal to develop the former Taperoo School site as a soccer and community recreation space. As a result of the engagement a number of additional features have now been included in the revised concept plan. They include: A playground area with shade sails Exeloo (public toilet) Outdoor gym equipment BBQ / picnic shelters and park furniture A loop path around the reserve Additional planting What’s happening now? Stage 1: Junior Soccer Pitch Completed February 2017. What’s happening next? Stage 2: Clubroom, Carpark and Main Soccer Pitch This stage is on track to be completed in the 2017/18 financial year. In March 2017, The City of Port Adelaide Enfield was successful in obtaining a State and Local Government Infrastructure Partnership Grant to undertake the construction of the Major Soccer Pitch in the 2017/18 financial year. Stage 3: Community Park In accordance with feedback received, the Community Park has been designed to include a playground, shade sails, public toilet, outdoor gym equipment, pathways and BBQ/picnic facilities. This component of the Reserve Upgrade shall be undertaken in the 2018/19 financial year. Trees In providing the Taperoo Reserve Upgrade, it is unfortunate that some of the existing trees are required to be removed (please refer to the enclosed attachment). As a part of the upgrade, Council is committed to the replacement of trees and other plantings in and around the Reserve to enhance the new facility.
