May 2019
Wednesday Night Program May 1, 2019 at 6:00 p.m.
At 6:00 p.m. Jimmy Schott's famous red beans and rice, courtesy of the cook, Jean Schott, will be on the menu AND there will be a Dessert Throwdown as well. A trifecta, really: a great program, a famous meal, and plenty of desserts to enjoy both! At 6:30 p.m. John Maxwell, noted playwright, actor, and author will be our speaker. John will talk about his ministry and how it has formed him both as a Christian and as a playwright. This fall, his troupe, The Fishtale Group, will perform a one act play for a Wednesday night program - more on that in the months to come. To get an idea about John's ministry, here is an excerpt from the mission of the Fishtale Group Theatre: "...through all ways of modern drama intersecting with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, to illuminate the dilemma of the human story." Cost: $7.00 per person/$20.00 per family
A sign-up sheet for supper is in the narthex.

May 8 – May 12 We have reserved the three traditional camp sites on the wall (14, 16, and 17), cabins are 72 – 73, the usual two across the road from the camp ground, and one additional cabin, 70, which is on the west side of the mountain. You’ll remember cabin 70 from a few years back when we gathered there for a smorgasbord lunch on the high porch in the back, with concrete deck and fire pit below, and great view of the mountains to the west. Please contact Rusty Smith [email protected], or Lee Smithson [email protected] to reserve a cabin space. The cabin cost is approximately $315 per person for 4 nights, depending on occupancy. I’ll have actual cost when I receive the email confirmation back from Mt. Nebo reservations. I know we all look forward to this great event. Again please share these dates; there are others who are interested in this trip who are not on our regular email list.
Save a little fire wood, think sunsets, city lights, good food, and pray for good weather.
Bill Burke
