Dear Holy People of God: CHRIST THE KING! The Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, is the crown of the liturgical year. This celebration reminds us of what we pray for: “Thy Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.”

It’s a kingdom that is spiritually enthroned within us – in our grateful heart. Our faithful hearts remind us of the never-ending supply of Christ’s love. And Christ’s unconditional love radically calls us to stretch out our generosity in chasing the works of mercy workable in our lives, by doing the following:

Feeding the Hungry! It’s not only giving food, but also feeding people’s hunger for knowledge by volunteering to become catechists for the Religious Education program of the parish, or feeding the hunger of people for love by lending our hearts to people’s need of compassion.

Clothe the naked! It’s not only giving clothes, but also adopting a poor family by providing the basic necessities of life and the bare minimum of love, compassion, mercy and kindness.

Welcoming strangers! It’s not only accepting immigrants, but also by helping at a shelter for the troubled, by teaching children to accept people of all colors and cultures; or better yet providing the immigrants with a place they can call “home”.

Today, as we come to the sanctuary to receive Jesus, let’s remember his promise: “Amen, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise!” Fellow pilgrims, let’s live that promise – “until death do us part!”

Also, on November 26, 2020, we celebrate THANKSGIVING DAY! COVID-19 might alter the way we celebrate it, however COVID-19 cannot lockdown thanksgiving! Although there is “social distancing,” thanksgiving is working double time in connecting hearts. While there is a “stay home” guideline, thanksgiving is making every home a sanctuary of gratitude. And even if there is a “facial mask wearing,” thanksgiving is a smile flying around like a flying kiss.

On THANKSGIVING DAY, after gathering together around the table of the Eucharist, I encourage all of you “to assemble in [your] homes… share fellowship and prayer, reinforce the ties of family, and express your thanks to God for the many blessings he has bestowed upon you, specially your health; and reach out in true gratitude to your brothers and sisters in the larger family of humanity.” Make your home as God’s temple, and create your hearts as Kingdom of Christ the King!

Friends, rest assured that Fr. Joseph, Fr. Mike, the Deacons, our Parish Staff, and I will offer the mass on THANKSGIVING DAY for all of you, as a token of gratitude for your unending prayers and unequivocal support.

At this time of year, as we encounter the changes of time and season, we are readjusting our “IN PERSON” Weekend Mass Schedule. The revised schedule is noted below:

4:00pm – Livestream Mass (English) 5:00pm – “IN PERSON” Courtyard Mass 6:30pm – Livestream Mass (Spanish)

SUNDAY

7:00am – “IN PERSON” Courtyard Mass 9:00am – Livestream Mass and VCL* 1:00pm - “IN PERSON” Courtyard Spanish Mass 3:00pm – “IN PERSON” Courtyard Mass 5:00pm – “IN PERSON” Courtyard Youth Mass

As with our current “In Person” Masses, you will still need to reserve you seat through our Eventbrite seating system. The reservation system enables us to have immediate contact tracing should the need arise. It also ensures that we do not exceed the maximum number of people for each mass and we will not have to “turn anyone away” from attending the Mass since their seat is already reserved. NOTE: If for some reason you will not be able to attend the Mass, please be considerate and cancel your reservation, so that someone else may attend the “In Person” Mass. Thank you.

♦ The Vehicle Communion Line is a direct continuation of the 9:00 a.m. Livestream Mass. In order to receive Communion (Eucharist), you MUST:

♦ Have already received your First Communion ♦ Have participated fully and completely in the 9:00 a.m. Livestream Mass

(i.e., watched and responded throughout the Livestream Mass) ♦ Be in a state of grace Meet the Eucharistic Fast requirements (e.g., no food or beverages for 1 hour before you receive the Eucharist. Noted exception: water and medication) ♦ All cars will enter through Gate #1 on Boys Republic Drive. You will NOT be parking, but simply entering into the Vehicle Communion Line. Please follow the directions of all Guidance Ministers as they direct you to one of the Communion distribution points. ♦ Please be aware that you will be exiting your vehicle in order to receive Communion (unless you have great difficulty walking). ♦ Please be aware that there is NO “upper age limit.” If you meet all of the above requirements

and you are in good health (i.e., have no symptoms of illness – such as fever, cough, etc.), you are welcome to receive communion.

♦ In keeping with Diocesan guidelines, at this time, Communion will be given in the hand only.

Finally, we ask that you bring hand sanitizer with you and make sure that everyone in the vehicle is wearing a face mask that completely covers your nose and mouth.

To make it easier to obtain a “reservation” for Mass, and to avoid getting a reservation for the wrong parish, please make sure you go directly to our website: www.sptacc.org and follow the instructions.

Please Update your Mass reservations:

If for some reason your plans change at the last minute and you will not be able to attend a Mass for which you already have reservations, please be sure to go through our parish website and “CANCEL” your reservation(s). That way, someone else can obtain a reservation through our Parish website. We do have a large num-ber of people who “wait” at the door to see if anyone is cancelling their reservation(s), so that they can attend the Mass.

Angel Toy Drive

2020 is going by fast and the Angel Toy Drive is almost here! Due to the effects of the pandem-ic, our community anticipate this year's requests for toys will reach higher than ever. If you would like to be an angel this Christmas and help meet this historic demand

and ensure our local children in need receive some holiday joy, please consider donating a toy, game or gift card to our Angel Toy Drive.

In previous years, we have had paper angels to take representing the ages of children in our community. Due to the pandemic and the new restrictions in place, we will not be using our paper angels. We are asking for donations for boys/girls in these age groups: 0-2 yrs. old, 3-5 yrs. old, 6-8 yrs. old, 9-12 yrs. old and our teens 13-17 yrs. old.

Due to the large number of teen angels in our community, we ask that you consider donating gift cards as well, for stores such as Target, Wal-Mart, etc. Suggested value should be $20.00. Please bring Gift Cards to the Parish Office.

Starting this weekend, donation bins will be available in the Courtyard during Mass and at the Communion Distribution Line on Sunday. Donation bins are also be available at the Parish Office.

Please turn in your new, unwrapped toy or gift no later than Wednesday, December 16th. Bring Gift Cards and Toys to the Parish Office, Monday - Friday 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Knock on the door when you arrive.

If you are aware of a local family who is strug-gling during these difficult times, ask them to contact the Parish Office.

CHRISTMAS CARDS DONATIONS The Office of Restorative Justice coordinates

the distribution of thousands of Christmas cards each year to prisons in our Diocese. We are in need of boxes of new, un-signed Christmas cards

(especially Spanish-language cards) which are then given to inmates to send home to their families. During this time, we ask for your help in showing our incarcerated sisters and brothers that some people do care.

• Deadline is Friday, December 4th in order to meet the prisons’ deadlines.

• Please NO cards that: are scented; contain glitter, tassels, ribbons, plastic, or pieces that can be removed or musical cards. Also NO cards requesting/requiring donations to an organization.

We encourage you to take notes as you reflect on this week readings / homily

T he end of time both scares and fascinates us, so it’s

little wonder that movies about the end of the world are a Holly-wood staple. While many of them are quite creative, none talk about what is actually going to happen, as described in today’s Gospel.

When the world ends, we are told that God is going to focus on one thing: How did we care for the poor, the sick, the suffering? Nothing else will matter. Just how we treated who Jesus called “the least” among us.

The world at large has the final judgment wrong, but so do many Christians. Sometimes we tend to think that God will ask us how much we prayed, how much we read about the faith, how often we had fellowship and community with others, how often we re-ceived the sacraments. All of those things are important- that’s true—but the bottom line for God is going to be how we treated oth-ers because, as Jesus says, the way we treat others is ultimately

the way we treat him. As we reach the end of the Church year, we are reminded of the great re-sponsibility God has entrusted to us to care for the people in our lives…until the end of our lives, for the extent that we serve oth-ers is the extent that we serve Christ, the King.

God. Jesus asks you the follow-ing questions that are based on today’s Gospel readings. As you hear them, answer them honestly in your heart. Did you give me food when I was hungry? Did you give me drink when I was thirsty? When I was a stranger, did you

welcome me? When I was naked, did you clothe me? When I was sick, did you care for me? Did you visit me when I was impris-oned? What did you do for the least of those in your life?

R ESOLUTION: As we approach the beginning of a

new church year, make a resolu-tion to live out the Church com-mands of Matthew 25 to the best of your ability next year. Choose one of the commands to focus on particularly in the next month.

dad, su fiesta fue establecida en 1925 como una reacción y una respuesta al creciente secularismo, comunismo y ateísmo que después de la Primera Guerra Mundial se esta-ban cada vez más extendiéndose. Si retrocediéramos aun más en el tiempo, recordaríamos que a lo largo de la historia rara vez ha habido un tiempo de paz en el mundo cristiano. La misma Tierra Santa ha sido frecuentemente un campo de batalla. La misma historia de la Iglesia tiene cismas y divisiones; y cada concilio de la Iglesia fue convocado para tratar de corregir alguna noción equivocada, evento mundial o herejías de la Iglesia. Tampoco los líderes de la Iglesia siempre han tenido las manos limpias, y ha habido guerras, genocidios e insurrecciones “en el nombre de Cristo.” Hoy, cuando más y más personas abandonan a una Iglesia organizada, y se identifican como “personas espirituales, pero no religiosas”, la necesidad de Cristo como líder y guía es más apremiante que nunca.

HEREDAR EL REINO El mundo en el que vivimos es complejo. Somos una socie-dad diversa y global en donde hay muchos asuntos y opiniones que van desde el cambio climático hasta la

política y la religión. A veces tratamos de resolver todo, y es difícil saber qué y a quién creer. Uno puede encontrar múlti-ples perspectivas de la misma noticia y las redes sociales pueden fácilmente influenciarnos. Sin embargo, cuando nos centramos en la historia del Evangelio, parece muy simple. No tenemos que saberlo o averiguarlo todo. No somos nosotros los que estaremos en el trono en el día del Juicio Final. Cuando Dios empiece a separar las ovejas de las cabras, la formula es una simple regla de oro. “¿Cuándo viste a Cristo en los demás? ¿Cuándo respondiste como corresponde?” No preguntará si eres católico o incluso si eres cristiano; si tienes antecedentes penales o una enfer-medad terminal; si tienes un doctorado o una educación hasta quinto grado; o qué idiomas hablas.
