Mission Statement We, the community of the faithful of St. Mary of Carleton Place, inspired by the
living Spirit of Christ, join together in concretely living out in our daily life the message of salvation proclaimed by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. From the mission received from our Baptism in the Risen Christ, we will endeavour to bring
his message of salvation to the world around us. Therefore, we will try to enrich
our parish community through our liturgical celebrations and regular prayer meetings, to deepen the faith life of our
community through Catechetical programs for children, youth and adults, to raise an
awareness of justice and peace in the minds and hearts of all people, and instill in all members of our Parish community a caring and loving disposition toward the poor, the sick and the needy of our wider community and of the world. Our parish
life and mission are dedicated to the patronage of Mary, Mother of Mercy, the true icon of our loving and merciful God.

Father’s Reflection
An Unquenchable Longing
All of us can experience moments of great joy because in his
goodness God allows us to taste on earth the joys of the
world to come. However, Moments of joy, no matter how
wonderful, will never satisfy the human heart.
What we long for is a permanent state of happiness. But that
is unattainable here. So what must we do? Like desert
travellers we must go forward from one oasis to another, with
the conviction that God has a homeland prepared for us at the
end of our journey. This conviction will make it possible for
us to travel onwards with an ache in our heart and an
unquenchable longing in our soul.
Christian Meditation
Do you want to spend some time daily with God
in silence? You can do so by learning how to
meditate. Join with others in a group to
practice Christian Meditation each Tuesday at
7:30 pm
in the chapel of St. Mary’s Church
Please support our sponsors on the back page of our bulletin.
Show your love for your parish. Remember to include your parish in your will.
