world’s poor to be rich in faith and inheri-
tors of God’s kingdom (Our Sunday Visitor, ibid.,
page 21).

CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD
(CLOW): This ministry involves partici-
pants to share the Word of God with chil-
dren pre-school through Grade 3. Children
are blessed during the Sunday 10:30AM
morning Mass and are sent forth with
adult leaders to the Memorial Chapel. Us-
ing approved texts that follow the same
readings that adults share on each Sun-
day, the children listen and respond to the
Word of God. They listen to an age-
appropriate homily by one of the adult
team members. They join the assembly
for the Liturgy of the Eucharist. We are
looking to form a team of Adults to lead
our young people. If you are willing to
help in this ministry, please contact Fr.
Dan at the office or email at RevDLa-
St. Mary’s Christmas Cookie & Snack Exchange
coming Sunday afternoon October 14, 2018.
Watch the bulletin for further details!
The U.S Bishops urge our participation each
Friday in a nationwide Novena for the Legal
Protection of Human Life, August 3—
September 28. Participants will receive week-
ly email or text reminders to pray and fast,
along with little known facts about Roe v.
Wade to share with others. Sign up at
www.usccb.org/pray!
PLEASE PRAY FOR all of our parishioners who may be ill and for all of our family members or friends who are ill.

One of our parishioners, Dolores Rodrigues, will be travelling to Fatima in October. She will be visiting the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima. If anyone has any intentions they would like her to bring, she will gladly do so. Please call her at 508-995-9981 or bring them to the par-ish office for her to pick up.
We are now offering Online Giv-ing! Visit our website and sign up and to begin contributing au-tomatically to our parish. This convenient new system does not require you to contact your
bank to sign up or to make changes. You can use any of your checking or savings accounts and the funds will be automatically transferred to our parish bank account. This system is more convenient for the parish than electronic checks from your bank. We take major credit cards too, which helps you acquire points/rewards. It’s convenient for you because you can make changes at any time. You can see reports on your contribution history and generate tax state-ments at year end. Go to www.stmarysnb.com and select the Online Giving button to get started today.
Do you feel God calling you to do something more
for Him? One way to help in His Vineyard would be
to volunteer as an Extraordinary Minister of the
Eucharist at Sacred Heart Home in New Bedford.
We currently need assistance on Sunday, Monday,
and Friday mornings. (This commitment would
take less than one hour of time.) If you feel called to
help in this important ministry, please contact
Pauline C. Gates, OCDS, Director of Pastoral Care,
Sacred Heart Home, 359 Summer St., New Bedford,
MA at 508-996-6751, ext. 124. Thank you for
prayerfully considering this ministry.
