Advent Retreat Focuses on ‘O Antiphons’
In Western Christian traditions, the O Antiphons – which begin with a name of Christ, such as O Wisdom and O Key of David – are prayed the week before Christmas. Father Martin Iott, OP, leads an Advent Retreat, The O Antiphons: Prayers of Desire and Promise, from 6:30 p.m. Sunday, December 2, 2018, through noon Fri-day, December 7, 2018 at Weber Retreat and Conference Center in Adrian. Father Martin guides participants in exploring and embracing the spirituality of hopes and dreams expressed in the Hebrew Scriptures and found in the O Antiphons. A Dominican Friar of the Southern Province, Father Martin has been engaged for 30 years in the ministry of preaching retreats and parish missions. The cost for the event – which includes meals and snacks – is $220 for commuters, $320 per person for double occupancy, and $420 for sin-gle occupancy. Registration is required. To register, visit www.webercenter.org and click on “programs.” Registrations may also be made by contacting Weber Center at 517-266-4000 or [email protected]. Weber Center is on the campus of the Adrian Dominican Sisters’ Motherhouse, 1257 E. Siena Heights Drive, Adrian. Enter the Eastern-most driveway of the complex and follow the signs to Weber Center. For information, call the Weber Center at 517-266-4000.
Catholic Services Appeal - Thanksgiving
The Archdiocese of Detroit’s blessings are
many, thanks to your generosity to the Catholic
Services Appeal.
The CSA makes possible more than 100 minis-
tries, programs, and services that touch the
lives of thousands throughout our Archdiocese
each day. No one parish could provide all of
these blessings, which benefit so many. Truly,
the CSA brings opportunities to open doors to
grow with Christ.
If you have yet to donate to this year’s Catholic
Services Appeal, please prayerfully consider
your blessings and make a gift.
For information about CSA-funded ministries, pro-
grams, and services, please go to aod.org.
Help Families in Need this Christmas
Won’t you help to make Christmas a little brighter for needy fam-
ilies in southeast Michigan this year? Catholic Charities of South-
east Michigan’s Saint Joseph Perpetual Help Fund will help
nearly 200 families this season, all nominated by Catholic parish-
es and Catholic organizations throughout the Archdiocese of De-
troit. The more donations the fund receives by December 7, the
more we can give to each family this Christmas!
Donate in one of two ways:
• Send a check made payable to CCSEM with “Saint Joseph
Perpetual Help Fund” in the memo line to our CCSEM main of-
fice at 15945 Canal Road, Clinton Township, MI 48038.
• Donate online at ccsem.org/donate. Select the box stating:
“I would like to designate this donation to a specific fund.” Then
scroll down the list and select the “Saint Joseph Perpetual Help
Fund.”
Donations received after the donation deadline of Dec. 7 will be
used to help families throughout the year. Questions? Contact
Kelly Luttinen at (248) 548-4044 x3621 or [email protected].
