FROM THE PASTOR
WISHING YOU, FAMILIES, AND FRIENDS
THE HAPPIEST NEW YEAR 2019 EVER!
What a wonderful time and precious moment to cele-
brate this New Year 2019, with the “Solemnity Feast of
The Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph!”
First of all, how blessed we are that we celebrate this
wonderful New Year with the Solemnity Feast Of The
Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. God came to
us and made His dwelling among the fabric of any per-
son’s life, the Family!
No once comes and lives in this world without a family.
That is always why in this modern world, the devil is
attacking the family. Why? Because, from it’s founda-
tion, the Lord blessed a man and a woman to procreate
and be fruitful, bring life into the world.
The great noble cause and satisfying life is addressed by
the Wisdom Tradition where the Book of Sirach talks
about the relationship of parents and children. Honoring
and obeying the parents is like obeying God, who safe-
guarded and protects the family. And it’s because of
this, the parents have the hearts to love their children
and in children the hearts to love and respecting their
parents.
With honoring and respecting parents, it has its rewards,
where it rings crystal clear in God’s fourth command-
ments. Care for parents when they are elderly brings its
blessings of long life, forgiveness, and good children.
Parents who are true to their vocation as parents deserve
honor and respect, and even in their old age, its reward
is life itself.
Therefore, the reward of life where honor and respect
for parents is granted, it also wells up heavenly love.
Heavenly love is to love and doing the will of our Heav-
enly Father. Jesus’ exemplified this by being preaching
about God in the Temple in the holy Gospel according
to Luke 2:41-52. Joseph and Mary were looking for
Him, and they found Him in the Temple. Everyone who
heard Him were astonished and His respond tells it all,
“Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I
must be in my Father’s house?”
While we begin this New Year with great hope and joy-
ful expectations, let us together with Holy Family, cen-
ter our lives in God’s Word and Life. Do not be afraid
and do not let your hearts be troubled for the Lord’s is
in our midst. He comforts and guides us if we let Him
be the Lord of our lives. May God bless and protect eve-
ry families from the evil one. May God be blessed for-
ever and ever, Amen!
Happy New Year – May the Peace,
Joy, and Love of God fills your
hearts! Amen.

CSA
The spirit of generosity is strong in the Archdiocese of Detroit at Christmas — and year-round through the Catholic Services Appeal.
The Archdiocese is grateful for the nearly 60,000 Christian stewards who pledged more than $25 million to the 2018 Catholic Services Appeal. These CSA gifts support valuable ministries, pro-grams, and services that open doors so thousands can grow with Christ each day.
As you plan your year-end donations, consider benefiting your parish with a gift to the CSA. Par-ishes that exceed their CSA targets receive the ex-cess funds, without archdiocesan assessment, as refunds for parish programs and projects.
To make a gift to the Catholic Services Appeal or for information about CSA-funded ministries, pro-grams, and services, go to aod.org.
MARRIAGE AND FAMILY MINISTRY
This Sunday marks the Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph — and is a celebra-tion of the family. Your CSA gifts help support families at all stages.
Catholic marriage is a vocation, a calling from God. Programs and services of the archdiocesan Marriage and Family Ministry Office include mar-riage preparation, Natural Family Planning, and Women’s Ministry. Resources are also available for family and marriage support, those experienc-ing separation and divorce, and the culture of life.
