This week, we take up The Catholic Relief Services Collection to help Jesus in disguise. This collection helps six Catholic agencies to provide struggling communities with relief and support and to work for peace and reconciliation among our marginalized brothers and sisters here and around the world. Please prayerfully consider how you can support the collection. Learn more about the collection at www.usccb.org/catholic-relief.

St. Mary’s parish office continues open to public, but we ask you to give us a call before you

come. At this moment all classes are suspended, Baptism, Bible, CCD and prayer group. If it is

not necessary to come in person to the office, we can tell you how to send us documents by,

email, text or messenger. You can email any documents to [email protected].

There is No Mass until new an-

nouncement from Bishop An-

thony Taylor.

Act of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus, I believe that your are

present in the most Blessed Sacrament

I love You above all things

and I desire to receive You

Into my soul.

Since I cannot now receive You

sacramentally, come at least

spiritually into my heart.

I embrace You as if You were

already there, and unite myself

wholly to You.

Never permit me to be separated from

You.

Amen.

Pope Francis’s prayer to Mary dur-ing coronavirus pandemic. “O Mary, you always shine on our path as a sign of salvation and of hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who at the cross took part in Jesus' pain, keeping your faith firm. You, Salvation of God’s People, know what we need, and we are sure you will provide so that, as in Cana of Galilee, we may return to joy and to feasting after this time of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform to the will of the Father and to do as we are told by Jesus, who has taken upon himself our sufferings and carried our sorrows to lead us, through the cross, to the joy of the resurrection. Amen. Under your protection, we seek refuge, Holy Mother of God. Do not disdain the entreaties of we who are in trial, but deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.”

SUNDAY DONATIONS: During this time when there is no Mass, you can place your Sunday donations in the square box in the church or mail them to the church office: St Mary Church PO Box 118 Siloam Springs, AR 72761. Be mindful that while many of us cannot attend Mass at this time, we can still save and mail our offertory gift to our parish or bring it with us when we are able to return, to continue the mis-sion of our Church.

Faith at home: Since Bishop Anthony B. Taylor announced the suspension of all public Masses and non-essential gatherings at parishes during the COVID-19 crisis, the Diocese of Little Rock is compiling a list of online re-sources to help you stay connected and continue to practice your faith at home, including online Masses, readings and prayers. This list at dolr.org/covid will be updated frequently as new information becomes available.

Fourth Sunday of Lent “Do you believe in the Son of Man?” Je-sus wants to motivate each one of us to see the truth. After developing a relation-ship with Jesus, the blind man “sees” as someone very special. The Pharisees, due to the blindness caused by their igno-rance, prejudice, and need for self-preservation, still remain blind. Presupposi-tions, prejudices, assumptions, and our needs can easily blind us to truth. We see what we want or need to see and not what is really there. In addition, our stub-bornness continues to convince us that we are right and that our vision is perfect. Only God can complete the picture. Look around at our world. So much of what is happening today is due to the reluctance of folks to allow themselves to be stretched and brought to see what is really there. Many react to what life pre-sents to them more with the lenses of ig-norance than lenses of clarity. The Gospel carries great transformative value. With it, God corrects our vision and replaces our limited sight with the fullness of his sight. God opens our eyes so that we can see that it is not about preserving what we have created but of living in the immen-sity and wonder of God’s kingdom. Through a simple, loving relation-ship with God, we can break through the tethers of prejudice, eradicate fear, dis-pel the darkness of hatred and sin, dis-cover freedom, live in peace, work for jus-tice, be effective stewards of creation, assist the migrant and the immigrant, and safeguard our economic systems and policies so that they truly serve all of God’s children. What we see is often an artificial lie. Our truth is much bigger than what our limited sight believes it to be. Al-low God to work in and through you. Do not be afraid. Be open and be humble enough to know that you need help. Many human beings are living with severe cataracts that produce sight that is at best blurred. Are you one of them?
