Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
“Salvation is now in our hands, not in God’s hands”. The second reading today tells us that Jesus emptied himself, took upon himself our human sinful nature, and died on the cross to pay the price for our sins. By dying on the cross, Jesus opened the “door” of salvation to all. Thanks be to Jesus Christ for breaking the chain of eternal death and opening the gate of eternal life for humanity; thus salvation is now no longer in God’s hands but rather in ours. In the first reading, the prophet Ezekiel points out one’s salvation depends on one’s turnaround from sin: “When someone virtuously turns away from virtue to commit iniquity, and died, it is because of the iniquity he committed that he must die. But if he turns from the wickedness he has committed, and does what is right and just, he shall preserve his life; since he has turned away from all the sins that he has committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die”. Also, in the Gospel, Jesus reaffirms this truth: “A man had two sons. He came to the first and said, ‘Son, go out and work in the vineyard today.’ He said in reply, ‘I will not, but afterwards changed his mind and went. The man came to the older son and gave the same order. He said in reply, ‘Yes, sir,’ but did not go. Which of the two did his father’s will?’ They answered, ‘The first,’ Jesus said to them, ‘Amen, I say to you, tax collectors and prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God before you”. What a strong and clear statement: even the distort-ed tax collectors and sinful living of prostitutes still would be able to redeem themselves by turning away from their sinful living. Let us take advantage of this life to work for our own salvation. Let us turn away from hatred, resentment, injustice, and sinful living before we run out of time. There is no such thing that is “too late”; the only one thing that is “too late” is no action taken or no changes made. “Salvation is now in our hands, not in God’s hands”. Fr. Joe Pham.
COME LET US ADORE HIM
Adoration will resume in Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel on Fridays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM beginning on Friday, October 2nd.

YOUR WEEKLY SUNDAY OFFERINGS
In the name of the Risen Christ, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you for your faithfulness of giving. Your Weekly Sunday Offerings are greatly appreciated especially during this difficult time. It is sad that our communal worship has to be suspended; however our parish’s operational expenses are still incurred. Therefore, every financial offering is so meaningful and essential to the life of our parish. I am truly grateful to you for continuing your financial support during this tough time. Be assured that your financial sacrifices during this time will not be passed over without God’s no-tice. May many graces and blessings be be-stowed upon you and your families. Fr. Joe Pham.
