Objective:1- Understand the difference between Web 1.0 and Web 2.02- Identify the general tools needed to be active with Web 2.0
•Web 2.0 Prism:
The first web site was created Aug, 6,1991By 1994 there fewer 10,000 web sites.By 1998 there were greater than 3.5 million web sites According to the Netcraft Web Server Survey, till December 2010 around 266,848,493 websites are available on world wide web. There has been an increase of 47 million hostnames and 7 million active websites over the last few months. In the month of December 2010 netcraft has received responses from 266,848,493 sites, which is an increase of 21,2000.
This prism identifies the many search engines and devices used in today’s conventional social media.
Difference between Web 1.0 and 2.0
• Difference between Web 1.0 and 2.0.
• Web 1.0– Users primarily surfed
the internet– Users downloaded
information– Web master’s were a
must– Knowledge of HTML
codes were needed• Web 2.0
– Has become participatory and interactive
– Offer’s a chance to create, share, publish and collaborate
– Applications such as wikis,blogs,photo and video sharing and social networking allow ordinary users to post content online.
