July 3, 2016 – 14th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Dear friends, Over the last month and a half, several parishioners, staff members, and I have met to discuss the results of the Archdiocesan survey that we completed last Fall. There was a lot of great information reflected back to us; and based on these results, this team prepared a "Mission Readiness Statement" for our two Parish community. This statement lays out the strengths and challenges that we face in the future task of evangelizing our neighborhoods and families. Some of this was hard to hear; some of it was encouraging. All of it is a renewed call to follow Jesus in our charge to share the Gospel with others. In the months to come, I will share some of the recommendations of this pastoral team. I will also be outlining ways in which we can begin to be better engaged in reaching out to others in the name of Jesus. We have a lot to celebrate, and we have a lot of work ahead of us; but I am certain that we will do it with God's help. In God's Peace, Fr. Austin
