St Leonards Minis
The St Leonards Minis Golf Programme has been specially designed for pupils aged 8-12, who are looking to
gain, or continue to build on, an understanding of golf, including basic skills and techniques. Our ‘Minis’ train at
the St Andrews Links Golf Academy under expert instructors, with some players progressing to compete in the
annual Sir Michael Bonallack U9, U11 and U13 Golf Championships, hosted by St Leonards here in the ‘Home
of Golf’. This tier is ideal for Junior School pupils who are just starting out on the golf course.
Cost: £300 What’s included:
• 8 weeks of group coaching over the course of the academic year. Each session is 90 minutes in length, with lessons held on Saturday mornings with an instructor from the St Andrews Links Golf Academy. Group lessons are carefully tailored and will include no more than 8 pupils in each session, to ensure each player receives time with the instructor.
• 4 x 1-hour individual lessons.
• A St Leonards crested hat.

St Leonards Introduction to Golf
‘Introduction to Golf’ is tailored for Senior School pupils who are new to the game, and who are looking to
develop their skills in the driving range and on the golf course. The aim of this tier is to support players as they
are starting out, with the ultimate goal of achieving their first handicap.
Each student will receive a personal development plan, to encourage improvement in their individual technical
lessons, as well as in the weekend group training sessions, and to encourage participation in internal
competitions.
The professional coach will help to set individual targets and goals for the player to ensure their game improves,
with the aim of rising to the next tier of the St Leonards Golf Programme with continued monitored progress.
Players in all tiers of the programme have the opportunity to be Links ticketholders. The St Leonards Golf
Programme enables our students to apply, providing open access to all St Andrews Links courses.
Cost: £725 What’s included:
• A personalised training programme based upon:
o Initial in-depth discussion
o Setting a development plan to understand long-term goals
o Objective skills tests including Scottish Golf short game tests, Trackman Combine test, Sam
PuttLab
o On course performance
o Nutrition and lifestyle

• 8 x individual technical lessons
• Weekly group training sessions working on skill development, motivation and performance golf.
Sessions take place on a Sunday, 16 weeks of the year, and last for 2 hours each

Q School Golf Programme
The St Leonards ‘Q School’ Golf programme serves as an ideal stepping stone for players coming up from our
‘Introduction to Golf’ tier and is open to students with handicaps of between 28 and 54, or those who have
taken part in the St Leonards ‘Introduction to Golf’ programme, focusing on developing the game.
Pupils enrolled at this level benefit from weekend group coaching at the St Andrews Links Golf Academy, as
well as individual tuition and a bespoke player development plan.

with the aim of rising to the next tier of the St Leonards Golf Programme with continued monitored progress.

Performance Development Squad
The St Leonards Performance Development Squad is designed for students who have some experience playing
golf and are interested in developing their game, improving their handicap, and increasing their confidence on
the course. It caters for students with handicaps between 16 and 28, who are looking to broaden their experience
of the game. Each student will receive a personal development plan and attend weekly weekend group training
sessions to work on their techniques learnt in their individual lessons. The professional coach will help to set
personal targets and goals to ensure their game goes from strength to strength. They will have an opportunity to
play in the St Leonards Monthly competitions which are held over five of the courses at St Andrews, as well as
representing the school at larger competitions and in the annual Sir Michael Bonallack or Tom Morris
Championships.

St Leonards High Performance Squad
This top tier programme is for experienced, skilled golfers who are looking to develop and perfect their golf
game alongside their academic studies at St Leonards. Students in the High Performance Squad must have a
handicap of 15 or better. Each student will receive a player development plan, carefully tailored to the individual,
helping the student achieve their golfing goals. Elements of their detailed personalised programme are intended
to test and improve the student’s planning and time management skills as well as developing their overall golf
game. Elite players can compete in national events and golf tours abroad, representing St Leonards, and have
the ability to play tournaments and practice rounds on the championship golf courses at St Andrews Links.
They will also be kitted out with the St Leonards Golf Club Callaway clothing and our school golf bag. Students
in all tiers of the programme have the opportunity be Links Ticketholders. The St Leonards Golf Programme
enables our golfers to apply, providing open access to all St Andrews Links championship courses.
