Слава Ісусу Христу! Glory be to Jesus Christ!
Dear Parishioners
At the back of the church, you will find an envelope marked “Redemptorist Solidarity Fund.” I ask you to use this donation envelope to help with the world-wide Redemptorist mission. Redemptorists serve God’s people in over 70 countries around the world; many of these are the poorest of the poor.
Every six years, Redemptorists in leadership from around the world gather as a decision-making body called a General Chapter; the delegates to 25th General Chapter in 2016 in Pattaya, Thailand decided that an annual collection will take place in every public Redemptorist place of worship to strengthen the Solidarity Fund. So, now in the fall of 2017 we undertake the first annual collection for the Solidarity Fund. The official date for this collection in the Ukrainian Redemptorist parishes is November 5, but we are providing you with information and the envelopes this weekend so you can prayerfully consider your donation to this Fund.
What is the Redemptorist Solidarity Fund? It is an instrument of the Redemptorist General Government to offer financial assistance to Redemptorists throughout the world for their mission to the poor and the most abandoned. The priorities of this Fund are the following:
Emergency situations such as the hurricanes that ravaged the Caribbean where we have many houses; Redemptorist communities in Dominica and St. Thomas and St. Croix suffered extensive damage from the hurricanes. Formation and Training of Redemptorist students especially when students come together to study from different parts of the world; and New pastoral initiatives, especially when Redemptorists from different parts of the world come to minister together.
Requests for urgent needs that are made to the Redemptorist Solitary Fund each year double and triple the amount of money available. Because of this, it is necessary to make an annual distribution according to the economic means available each year.
May God bless you as you assist we Redemptorists in our call to be witnesses of the Redeemer, in solidarity for mission to a wounded world.
Yours in Christ, our Redeemer,
Fr. Larry Kondra, C.Ss.R Provincial Superior, Yorkton Province of Redemptorists

In 2016, the Redemptorists around the world celebrated
the 150th anniversary of our reception of the Icon of Our
Mother of Perpetual Help, with the directive from Pope Pius
IX, “Make her known throughout the world”. To help
commemorate this anniversary, Pope Francis blessed
twelve Icons of Our Mother of Perpetual Help. These
“traveling” icons were given to Redemptorists from around
the world not only to celebrate the anniversary but also to
use the icon to promote the good news of Redemption. One of these icons have arrived at
our parish of St. Joseph’s. May its presence be a great source of grace for our parish and for
each one of us.
Moleben will be prayed before this special icon this evening at 6:00 pm.
Following Moleben there will be a screening of a film about
the Icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, entitled
Icon of Love All are invited.

O Mother of Perpetual Help, We come before your holy Icon seeking to follow Your Son. Mary, please
gently guide us to enter more deeply into the mystery of Redemption. Help us as we contemplate the Incarnation, Passion, Death and Resurrection of
Your Son, Jesus, Our Redeemer. Help us to receive and accept the Light of Christ present in your arms. Mary, we present our needs to you and ask that you place them in the hands of your Son. Most Holy Mother of God,
Our Mother of Perpetual Help, save us. Amen.
