GOD’S PROMISE TO ALL PEOPLE

Today Isaiah reminds the people of God that the land shall be restored to their possession, they shall rejoice to see their people return from the bondage of exile, and that they shall be a light to the nations. In other words, through the people of Israel, the Savior shall come to all people who seek God with a sincere heart. This brings joy and the radiance of God’s glory to all the world and to all people everywhere. Through the fidelity of the people of God, and through God’s fidelity to them, all people shall become God’s children and rejoice in the fulfillment of God’s promise to Israel.

Stephen Ministry Epiphany The Epiphany is the “Manifestation" of the baby Jesus to the Gentiles as represented by the three kings, "The Magi." (Matt 2: 1-12). Epiphany or the 12th day of Christmas falls on January 6th; [and many people still have their Christmas trees up until this time]. For us an epiphany could be a spiritual aha moment, a moment of sudden revelation. And maybe it is particularly this time of the year, when most of us ponder New Year resolutions, when we look into ourselves, that such moments can happen. This could be anything from forgiving someone, to knowing what we would like to change in our life. It could be an ideal time to contemplate on how we could incorporate prayer into our everyday lives, or, perhaps, even make a resolution to try to frequent the sacraments. Like anything, from working out, to eating right and fulfilling our obligations of going to Mass once a week, it takes some effort but the reward is by far greater than the effort.

If you feel called to do more in your community and would like to help someone in need, inquire about becoming a Stephen Minister.
