A Message from Fr. Fitz… Notification of someone who may have been at Mass and tests positive for Covid 19. In the case of our discovering that someone who was at a Mass and has tested positive for COVID-19, we want to be able to inform all of you particularly if you had been at the same Mass, so that, in consultation with your physician, you can take the appropriate steps. If we learn of a person who has been at Mass and has tested positive, we will send out a parish-wide email with the details. Also, it will be on the parish website as well, so please check our website, brightoncatholic.org on a regular basis. If you wish to be contacted personally, please call or email the rectory ([email protected]) with the appropriate contact information so that you can receive a personal notification. Our fifth weekend of Masses since the reopening went very well. We had over 300 people who came to the Masses last weekend and our volunteers, as in previous weekends, were very helpful in coordinating the various safety requirements. We are also grateful for the prayerful and financial support of parishioners who have not yet been able to attend Mass. As we move into the next phases of reopening, you will be informed of any changes to our procedures. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Online broadcasts of Masses at St. Columbkille are on YouTube. Go to the Par ish Webpage, www.brightoncatholic.org and you will find the link to the Masses. 14th Sunday in Ordinary Time A community work project took place on a hot and humid morning. College students helped younger students, keeping a watchful eye on them as they were picking up trash, painting playground furniture and hanging new signs. Halfway through the morning, everyone headed for the shade of a weeping willow tree and a drink of ice-cold spring water. It really was refreshing. The shade and the water revived us and we were ready to finish our work. Everyone had a good time and contributed to our success. Jesus never said that life would be easier because we believe. He only promised that He would be with us always. In our work and struggle, He is always near, giving us purpose and hope as we join our work to His as a prayer and an offering to the Father. We never struggle in vain, for even our smallest efforts join us to heavenly powers. Our work may be difficult and tiresome, but the Lord is always watching over us. He makes sure we have the strength and the rest we need to complete our mission. His love never fails. We are certain of success because, in everything we do, we are building the Kingdom of God.
