Welcome and Opening Remarks, Dr. R. Walker (ADM S&T) and Mr. R. Parker (ADM IC)
Participants were welcomed to the workshop by Dr. Walker, Assistant Deputy Minister for
Science and Technology, and Mr. Parker, Senior Assistant Deputy Minister, Industry Canada).
These speakers remarked on the successes of the Soldier Systems Technology Roadmap
project to date—including the collaboration that has been generated between government,
industry, and academia—and emphasized the importance of the Soldier Systems Technology
Roadmap going forward.
