5 Port Drop Amplifier
With Modem By-pass Port
The ACI Communications Drop Amplifier with a dedicated modem pass-throughport is a house-type active device that delivers superior performance up to 1 GHzin today’s expanding RF telecommunications networks. The modem pass throughport has a switching relay that will keep the modem connection active if theresidential power is lost and then return to normal operation once the power is
resorted
The Drop Amplifier provides additional gain at thecustomer premise when needed as a result of longdrops, multiple TV outlets, or multiple servicerequirements. Additionally, port 5 will maintain asignal for lifeline VoIP services if the residentialpower is lost. This is done by a switching relay thatwill detect the loss of power and switch into apassive mode with only port 5 active, and thenautomatically switch back to normal operation whenthe residential power is restored.
The Drop Amplifier allows very versatile deploy-ment. To install, simply locate and mount theamplifier, and then connect the RF input cable andthe RF output cable(s) making sure to connect anyVoIP services cable to the VoIP port. Since theamplifier is a DC powered device, powering may beachieved in two different ways. It can either bepowered directly in a co-located situation through anexternally mounted transformer or it may bepowered remotely by an externally mountedtransformer via the cable through a power inserter atthe TV set location.
Features
• Modem VoIP port pass-through is clearlymarked for ease of installation.
• 4.0 dB forward gain & unity reverse gain oneach of the four TV ports
• GaAsFET technologies• Superior performance specifications for full
channel loading at design bandwidth• Low noise and excellent distortion performance• Low power consumption• Die-cast aluminum housing for excellent heat
dissipation• Remote or co-located powering capability• 6 Kv combination wave surge protection on
amplifier – all ports (IEEE587 category B3)• 6 Kv combination wave surge protection on the
transformer (IEEE587 category B3).• High performance “F” connectors - SCTE
compliant• 1002 MHz bandwidth• Universal range AC power pack ensures
normal operation under widely varying ACinputs.
