Our

Services

Development Support

We provide development support and advice to local voluntary

and community groups throughout South Staffordshire. We also

carry out funding searches and help develop bids with groups.

Whilst we offer support to all groups there is a local focus on

working with children and younger people, and older people.

Volunteering

We are ready to place people in their perfect volunteer

opportunity through our network of 100s of local community and

voluntary groups. We also provide best practice support and

training to groups and individuals.

Work Clubs

We work very closely with the local South Staffordshire Work

Clubs. Our volunteer duty officers will be on hand offering

advice on how volunteering can help job seekers gain vital skills

that will help them into employment.

Community Support

Our Community Support Co-Ordinator utilises community

resources to provide social, non-medical remedies to those over

50 with multiple complex needs, people with a long term health

condition, the frail elderly, and carers. This helps people to better

self-manage their illnesses and increase their independence.

Training

We provide a variety of training courses relevant to local

communities and its voluntary and community sector. Topics

include First Aid, Computers for Beginners & Intermediates,

Committee Skills, Project Planning, Finance, Food Hygiene,

Funding, Marketing & Social Media.

Community Learning Trust

We facilitate the Locality Working Group, a district partnership of

adult learning providers in South Staffordshire, promoting and

planning collaborative working and sharing information and

best practice. Everyone who has an interest in adult learning is

welcome to join.

Networking

Throughout the year we arrange a number of events where

local community and voluntary groups are able to gather and

are updated on the latest sector news. At our Community Voice

Forums groups are given the opportunity to network, and link in

on future projects, with each other.

Partnership

We act as the voice of local groups, facilitating a regular Third

Sector Forum attended by key agencies and public sector

representatives, are active within the South Staffordshire Locality

Commissioning Partnership, and engage on wider issues with

partners in Support Staffordshire and VAST. We are involved in

the development of the local Compact and a volunteering

strategy.

Marketing & Social Media

If your community group or charity has an upcoming event,

some good news you’d like people to know about, or a

volunteering position available we would be more than happy

to publicise this for you through our website, fortnightly

newsletter and social media channels.

Established in 1986, South Staffordshire Community

& Voluntary Action have been providing local

support to South Staffordshire’s community and

voluntary sector for the best part of 30 years.
