ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

• Orientation Programme for parents of Class IX & X students was held on 6th July 2019 to

brief the parents about the introduction of information technology as a vocational subject

and the changes in the internal assessment pattern as per the CBSE circular. They were also

councelled regarding understanding their children and about behavioural issues .

• MOVIE ON NUCLEAR ENERGY. Students of classes VIII & IX witnessed a movie about nuclear energy organized by Times

of India on 18.07.2019 . It was very informative and students were enlightened about the

applications of nuclear energy.

• EAB PROGRAM HELD ON 22.06.2019

Environment Association of Bangalore organised a seminar on solar energy on 22.06.2019 .

Students from classes 9th and 10th participated in poster making competition and

won third prize.

• 73RD INDEPENDENCE DAY – 2019 – 15.08.2019

73RD Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at our school.

The celebration began with hoisting National Flag by Hon.Secretary Shri Hayagreevachar.

Students shared their views on the significance of the day. The patriotic songs sung by the

students awakened everyone’s feeling towards motherland. The spirit of Freedom fighter was

exhibited by the speech of Principal and Secretary Sir inspired the gathering by reminding

them the sacrifices made by our great leaders. Celebration concluded by distributing sweets

and by participating in Swacch Bharath.

127TH BIRTHDAY OF DR. S R RANGANATHAN (FATHER OF LIBRARY

SCIENCE) OR LIBRARIANS DAY was celebrated on 17th August 2019. Chief Guests on

this occasion were Smt Padmavathi, Deputy Librarian, Bangalore University and Shri

Manikanth, a renowned literature person. Smt Padmavathi addressed the students and spoke

about the importance of traditional libraries and Sri Manikanth narrated thought provoking

and emotional stories written by him in his book “Amma Helida yentu Sullugalu” to the

students. They also distributed the prizes to voracious Readers of SJV Library . Smt Jayalaksmi

Prakash ,Principal of SJV motivated the students to cultivate reading habit.

KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS – 26TH JULY 2019

The 20th Anniversary of Kargil Vijay Divas was celebrated. The Kargil Vijay Divas was celebrated

in an interesting way to instil the sense of respect towards soldiers and patriotism towards

nation. Various competitions such as drawing , Collage, Power point presentations , movie

making, slogan writing and poems writing were held.

Children from classes 5 to 10 participated enthusiastically to show case their talents

highlighting the deeds and sacrifices of our soldiers.

Even various clippings of Kargil war , life of soldiers like Saurabh Kalia, Manoj Pandey etc were shown to the students.

CELEBRATION OF HERITAGE FEST

Our institution organised ISKCON HERITAGE FEST on 26th July 2019. The chief guest for the

day was Shri ARUN, Event Co-ordinator from ISKCON Group.

Various competitions were conducted from class PH to Class X like Colouring , Handwriting,

Gita (Shloka Chanting, Pushpalankara, Pencil Shading , Paper craft , Poetry composition, Collage

, Creative writing , Essay writing and Painting. Judges from ISKCON group judged our children’s

performance.

Our students won prizes in pushpalankara, shloka chanting , Creative writing , Collage and

painting.

• SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS FOR CLASS X STUDENTS:

• Physics Prof. Sharmishta Sahu demonstrated a number of Science experiment on Light

and electricity for class 10 on 30.07.2019. The students understood the concepts and

participated enthusiastically.

• SANSKRIT PROGRAMME was organized by Sri Shankara and AYUSH TV Channel at

‘Freedom park’ on 17th of August 2019. 140 Sanskrit students participated in Shankara

T V programme , which was telecasted on 11th Nov 2019.

• CLASS PLAY HOME, LKG AND UKG TRIP TO “ OUR NATIVE INDIA” ON

16.08.2019.

• CLASS I & II TRIP TO “NATIVE INDIAN RESORTS” ON 17.08.2019.

• CLASS III TRIP TO “MADHUVANA RESORTS” ON 31.08.2019

• CLASS IV TRIP TO “MYSORE LOCAL” ON 31.08.2019

• DRAMA ON JALLIANWALA BAGH INCIDENT

• A few blind artists from the service organization Rashtrashakthi,Bangalore were invited

to our school . They enacted a drama on JALLIN WALA BAGH incident on 30th Aug 2019

on account of remembrance of 100 yrs. of JALLIANWALA BAGH incident.
