CBSE has of late been increasing its efforts to strengthen the role of Physical Education and

Sports in Education. This has inspired the Management to offer to host the South Zone

Badminton Tournament on behalf of CBSE because it also envisions the role of Sports in

transforming the Youth into healthy, disciplined and committed citizens who would be an

asset in Nation building.

ASSISI VIDYANIKETAN PUBLIC SCHOOL was established at Chembumukku,

Kakkanad, Kochi in 1994, under the aegis of the Archbishop Attipetty Foundation Trust and

was affiliated to CBSE in 1996. Today, the Institution is under the patronage of the Archbishop

of Verapoly, Most Rev. Dr. Francis Kallarackal, with Rev. Fr. Johnson D’Cunha as the Director.

Situated in the lush, verdant environment of Kakkanad, on the periphery of Ernakulam

city, with a canal flowing quietly by its side, the 8 acre campus is a conducive site for an

educational institution.

Assisi Vidyaniketan has grown into a flourishing CBSE Senior Secondary School, with

approximately more than 2600 students and 120 teaching staff on it's rolls at present. The

School was founded with the express intention of facilitating comprehensive and integral

development of the younger generation. Excellent infra–structure provides ample scope for

both intellectual and physical development. The School is certified ISO 9001:2008 by TUV

Rheinland for maintenance of quality management.
