Page 1 of 2 LCC Doc#13152558 Fact Sheet Springwood Implementation Projects – Carol Avenue to Laurinda Crescent Pathway Introduction Logan City Council is committed to develop the potential of Springwood’s centre as a major commercial activity hub. In June 2017, Council endorsed a budget allocation of $5 million to establish an Implementation Fund for the Springwood Activity Centre that will be focused on infrastructure and project delivery of the key priority projects identified from the Springwood Summit held in 2016. One of the identified projects is the Slacks Creek Green Link Shared Pathway between Bakers Street and Moss Street in Springwood. The project, a key outcome from the Springwood Summit aims to improve east-west connectivity within Springwood, and is part of forming a new pedestrian and cycle loop within the centre. The project will improve safety for local residents, students and school staff and local employees, will provide a more direct connection to amenities linking retail and commercial areas with residential precincts and will promote increased walkability of the centre. Project Facts New 3m wide active transport link between Carol Avenue and Laurinda Crescent o Contribution of $68,181.82 from Queensland Department of State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure & Planning (through the Manufacturing Infrastructure Priority Program) for the detailed design of the project. A 3m concrete pathway including feature pavement, boardwalk and retaining walls. Creative lighting Planting and new trees Lighting CCTV security cameras Bench seats along the pathway with integrated artwork Wayfinding and interpretive signage.
