In the meantime, we had
some wonderful student
recognitions this week,
some big wins when we
were on the field, and
we celebrated our Ath-
lete’s of the Month and
several more athletes
who have made college
commitments. As we look
forward to the next cou-
ple of weeks we have
prom, student perfor-
mances, award ceremo-
nies,
Sometimes you win, Sometimes you lose, Sometimes it Rains...
Please help me congratulate the following students who took 2 separate auditions and
were selected for All-state Band or Orchestra. These auditions are very technical and
rigorous and require the highest level of musicianship. These students represent the best
high school musicians in the state. Lauren Brack, Euphonium, Savannah Smith, French Horn,

March definitely came
in like a lion this week.
We did not have our
normal slate of con-
tests due to a string of
rough weather. We
will have a busy make
-up schedule over the
next few weeks, and
we will make sure to
keep you updated.

Baseball was able to play this weekend getting a big win against Forsyth Central, and losing a
tough one to Cartersville in extra innings. Region play starts for the Knights this week, and we
carry a 6-2 record into March. We are home Tuesday night, so make some plans to head out to
the ballpark. Here’s a great picture of Chris Williams hitting a homerun this weekend.

Lax...
Our girls got a hard-fought win this week against Pace Academy. We were lead by our defense with
11 strong saves by goalie, Kyla Anderson! The boys notched their first win of the year by beating
North Springs Friday night. The offense is getting better each game, and you can see both teams hit
the field Monday night.
River Ridge scored a pair of goals in quick succession in the first half and survived a late
onslaught to beat Woodstock 2-1 on Tuesday at River Ridge.
After nearly 30 minutes of scoreless play, Caylee Gerold got the game’s first goal. Just
2:18 later, Grace Wartes followed with a goal of her own to give the Lady Knights (2-0)
the cushion they needed.
“We were able to play pretty well except late in the game,” River Ridge coach Matt Rice
said. “You have to credit Woodstock. They had a rough start, but they came in here ready
to play. We’re a Class AAAAAA school, and we were able to beat an in-county rival that’s
a classification above us.”
Our boys rebounded from a tough first half with a tremendous second half and come up
short, but played a very good match.

hardt College, and Daniel Uwaomah will continue his football career at Jacksonville State. Best of luck
to all of them
Growing Leadership…
We had another great Athlete of the Month breakfast. These kids have some great ideas that will
make our school and athletic programs better. They were selected by their coaches for their attitude,
effort and commitment to the team. Congratulate them when you see them.

Have Some Fun on the Run…
The River Ridge Band Boosters has a challenge for all of the schools athletes, clubs, and those who just
like to have a good time with friends! We would love to have everyone join us at our first annual
"Glow in the Knight" run. It is a 5K run that will be held right here on our high school campus
next Saturday, March 10th. This fun event will occur in the evening, and we are encouraging partici-
pants to wear glow-in-the-dark sticks, necklaces, etc while running or walking the course. More de-
tails and registration information can be found here:

would like to be part of the fun and while providing much needed support to our River Ridge Band
program - so please help us spread the word, and be sure to sign up soon to guarantee yourself a race
day T-shirt!
