Woodbend President’s message:Well, spring is finally here albeit very dry. This message to you is a bit later than usual but we waited until the AGM was complete to introduce you to your new board. Most of the directors and executive let their names stand again for the upcoming year. The only new member is Marilyn Mcintosh as secretary replacing Roberta Forster, long time resident of Woodbend. We wish to thank Roberta for all her volunteerism with us and wish her the best as a snowbird in Arizona.
We had a very good year and rentals are booked from now till end of October. We had a casino in February and are awaiting the funds to complete some planned projects. Aerobics is continuing on Tuesday and Thursday evenings September through June. We are anticipating the possibility of a Zumba class this fall. Read your newsletter for more information.
I wish to take this opportunity to thank all of our volunteers for the excellent contribution they give to our community. Without you there would be no Woodbend.
On a last note for you who are not aware there will be NO gravel pit in our river valley off 199 street. A big thank you goes to our county counsellor Jo Szady for all the support she gave on behalf of the residents of the county. She gave unselfishly of her time at the hearings at Edmonton city hall and it was truly appreciated.
Enjoy your summer and you will hear from us again in our fall newsletter.

A LITTLE FUNNYMe and my better half were sitting in the livingroom and I said to her, “Just so you know, I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependant on some machine and fluids froma bottle. If that ever happens, just pull the plug.”She got up, unplugged the TV and threw out all my beer.
