*Although in this emerging market definitions are evolving. Generally, zero energy (ZE) buildings are defined as those that produce at least as much energy as they consume over a year.

Last year's event was amazing. Highly recommended. 10 out of 10!Jorge ChapaHead of Market TransformationGreen Building Council of Australia

What a great conference you all put together! I got a chance to connect with new folks, reconnect with others, learned a lot more about the national landscape. It was one of the best conferences I have attended in a long time. We’re feeling energized and charging forward to get to Net Zero!Jessica Iplikci,Business Sector ManagerEnergy Trust of Oregon

WHY ZERO ENERGY BUILDINGS?

Zero energy is an ultra-efficiency goal

that owners can define, design teams can

reach for, and occupants desire.

Growth in the zero energy buildings market is accelerating. By NBI’s most recent count, nearly 500 commercial buildings are currently achieving or striving for zero energy-level performance. The Net Zero Energy Coalition has tracked an additional 741 residential projects.

Found in a majority of states, these buildings are expanding in type and increasing in size, proving that ZNE is growing in feasibility. New policies are spurring new projects and investments as a means to achieving carbon reduction goals.

Non-policy sessions give design teams and project managers the chance to dig in on the critical technical aspects of zero net and exemplary energy project design and operations.

Business leaders will offer perspectives on the value proposition for ZE and strategize on breaking down the barriers that make the ZE performance goal elusive.

(See sidebar for 2016 National Forum stats)

Tracks focused on the pathways for getting to zero and the need to consider ongoing operations and occupant impacts.

Interactive sessions share and discuss bright spots and lessons learned.

Generous networking opportunities and intimate exhibiting foyer offer space for new collaboration to form.
