About NIT Warangal, CSE Department:

National Institute of Technology (formerly, a Regional Engineering College), Warangal, is the first among 17 RECs setup as joint ven-ture of the Government of India and the state government. Over the years, the college has established itself as a premier and the Central Govt. upgraded the RECs into NITs, and conferred the status of “In-stitute of National Importance”. The Department of Computer Sci-ence and Engineering (CSE) offers B.Tech. Course in CSE, M.Tech courses in CSE, CSIS and Master of Computer Applications (MCA). The Department has liaison with reputed industries and R&D or-ganizations like Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, Accenture, Infosys, TCS, EMC2, C-DAC, Motorola, NIC, Sun Micro Systems, SPSS and tie up with IITs, NITs and leading universities abroad. This academy role is to offer faculty development programmes in standardized courses and emerging areas of Computer Science, Electronics, Information Communication Technologies; training & consultancy services for Industry; Curriculum development for Industry; CEP for working professionals; Advice and support for technical incubation and entrepreneurial activities;

ABOUT FDPThis FDP on Machine learning is organized by NIT-W jointly with Vignan’s Lara Institute of Technology & Science, Vadlamudi. De-partment of CSE, NIT-Warangal brings resource persons for FDP and conducts as per schedule of 42 hours in a span of 6 days. Vignan’s Lara Institute of Technology & Science, Vadlamudi, hosts this FDP by providing boarding and lodging to the participants and also by providing the infrastructure to organize the event.

Introduction to Machine Learning, Supervised Learning, Decision tree learning, Bayesian learning, Conceptual Learning, Instance based learning, Unsupervised learning, Dimensionality reduc-tion, Neural Networks, Support Vector Machine, Gaussian Mixture Models, Hidden Markov models, Probability Learning, Ensemble learning. Some Research issues will also be discussed. This FDP set objectives to train the faculty to teach the course with deeper understanding of all the concepts with gained practical exposure. Rich experience of the coordinators will make the participants to feel the difference.

ELIGIBILITY

The programme is open to the faculty of Engineering colleges, MCA/BCA colleges in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Goa, Pudicherry and Andaman and Nicobar islands. It is also extended to industry personnel working in the concerned/allied discipline.

REGISTRATION FEE PARTICULARS

The participants need to send crossed DD worth Rs.2,000/ (Rs.500/- in case of SC/ST category participants) drawn in fa-vour of Director, NIT, Warangal.

ACCOMMODATION

All the selected participants will be provided FREE Boarding &Lodging by Vignan’s Lara Institute of Technology and Science, Vadlamudi, only upon prior request. No TA will be paid for the participants. A Book worth of Rs.500/- (approximately) will be given to each participant.

SELECTION

First-Come-First-Serve procedure will be adopted. Maximum number of faculty participants is limited to 50. Around 10 participants from R&D organizations can also be accommodated in the programme.
