Villa Charities Foundation salutes Italy’s renowned Giro d’Italia with our 11th annual Giro fundraising event, taking place on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Eagles Nest Golf Club in Maple, ON. If you participated in last year’s Villa Charities Giro, you know it is the premier cycling experience of the season!

Join us for this exhilarating and challenging bike route that will take you through the countryside of Vaughan, the hills of Caledon and other surrounding picturesque areas. Experience Italian-themed rest stops, inspired by the regions of the 100th annual Giro d’Italia, along the way. Get outdoors and do something you love, while raising money for a worthy cause. Gear up for the most exciting edition of the annual Giro yet!

Villa Charities Giro is more than just a cycling event - it celebrates community and culture!

History• Giro is Villa Charities’ homage to the renowned Giro d’Italia, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2017. • The very first Villa Charities Giro was co-founded by Edward Sorbara in 2006, with 50 cyclists participating. Mr. Sorbara was the first to win the Maglia Rosa Jersey!• Now, in our 11th year of Giro, we have raised over one million dollars in net proceeds, with

over 2,000 participants to date.

About the Event• Villa Charities Giro takes place on Sunday, May 28, 2017.• This unique, fast-paced cycling event will start and finish at Eagles Nest Golf Club in Maple, ON.• Registration will open at 6:30 a.m.• Breakfast will begin at 7:00 a.m.• The Grand Marshall will officially start the ride at 8:00 a.m.• Giro cyclists’ endurance and skills will be put to the test as they cycle the full route, GranFondo (100 km),

or the shorter route, MediaFondo (60 km). • As a nod to the Giro d’Italia tradition, the Maglia Rosa (pink jersey) will be presented to the top

Giro 2017 fundraiser.• Over 260 cyclists will participate in the 2017 ride.• Rest stops along the route will provide snacks and water to ensure the cyclists are safe and healthy.• Please note that Giro is a ride and NOT a race and will take place rain or shine.• Only bicycles are allowed to participate in this event.
