About Split Split is the second largest city in Croatia and the

largest city of the region of Dalmatia. It lies on the eastern shore of the Adriatic Sea. Split has 178,000 inhabitants.

Split is an important Croatia Mediterranean cultural center

Patron saint of Split is St. Duje. St. Duje Cathedral is the oldest cathedral in the

world.

History Split is one of the oldest cities in the area. The city center is the old Diocletian's palace from the 4th century. Palace is built by the

Roman Emperor Diocletian.

Tourism Split is becoming increasingly popular tourist

destination. In the first nine months of 2014, as many as

863,000 overnight stays were registered. Most of the tourist come from Germany, Great Britain, France, Czech Republic and Italy.

Croatia is becoming more and more recognized as an attractive destination for the music festivals.

The Famous world music festival is Ultra Europe Music Festival.
