Results for BG051PO001-6.2.18-0001 "New opportunities for doctors in Bulgaria“ project:

650 doctors specializes (including 603 medical doctors and 47 dental doctors) took part inthe project.

Successfully completed training modules.

The doctors received financial support for their training by:

▪ paid fees for theoretical and practical training;

▪ monthly scholarships granted in the amount of two minimum salaries for the country;

▪ reimbursement of purchased medical schoolbooks for relevant medical specialties;

▪ provided medical clothing and shoes.

Analysis of the degree of theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquisition and thecollection and analysis of information about the results achieved by the trainees during thetraining has been performed.

Analysis and proposals for introducing new and / or improving existing practices on theterms and conditions for acquiring a specialty in the healthcare system, as well as itsfinancing has been prepared.

Programming period 2014-2020:

Increasing opportunities for acquiring a medical specialty and providing continuing education in the

field of healthcare

Human Resources Development Operational Programme 2014-2020

Priority axis 1: “Improving the access to employment and the quality of jobs”

Investment priority № 6: “Enhancing equal access to lifelong learning for all age groups in formal,

non-formal and informal settings, upgrading the knowledge, skills and competences of the

workforce, and promoting flexible learning pathways including through career guidance and

validation of acquired competences”.

Specific objective 3: Increasing the number of persons employed in knowledge-based sectors, high

technology and ICT, green economy, „white" sector and personal services sector, processing

industry with higher value added from labour, creative and cultural sectors, who have improved their

knowledge and skills with the support of HRD OP



The project purpose of BG05M9OP001-1.015-0001 "Specialization in health":

TO HELP INCREASE THE PROFESSIONAL CAPACITY OF DOCTORS IN TRAINING,

SPECIALIZING AND PROVIDING BETTER HEALTH SERVICES

Object of action: The main project activities are related to the provision of scholarships

and payment of fees for theoretical and practical training.

Start of the project: 22 November 2016

Duration: until 31 December 2019

Total budget: BGN 5 496 628.40



MAIN PROJECTS ACTIVITIES:

❖ Managing the created project web site: www.specializanti-mh.info

❖ Promoting the opportunities for participating in the project among the target group.

❖ Two procedures for selection of doctors for participation in the project were carried out.

❖ Contracts with 150 doctors were signed for financing their training.

❖ Monthly payment of fees for theoretical and practical training of the specialists and

scholarships for some of them are provided.

❖ Collecting and analyzing of information on the results achieved by the participants during

the specialization.

❖ An addition to the eligibility criteria of the project target group is on-going.

❖ Implementation of new procedures for the selection of participants to finance their

specialization.
