o PROMES laboratory located in the south of France : - Font Romeu-Odeillo site in the Pyrenees mountains (Solar Furnace)- UPVD site in Perpignan

Contents of the « Solar Thermal » specializationprerequisite: basics in thermal transfer, fluid mechanics and energetics
• Very innovative formation with a unique focus on the CSP technologies• Multidisciplinary skills : optics, thermal transfer, materials science,
thermodynamics, energetics,…• Unique skills in system simulation (work with industrial softwares and
numerical tools dedicated to CSP design and simulation)• Experience on unique solar facilities
High Temperature 90 h • Concentrating system and receiver• Solar Plants• Solar fuels
Thermal Storage 30 h
Fundamentals 60 h• Radiative heat transfer• Coupled heat and mass transfer
Low Temperature 60 h• Solar collectors• Solar conversion (heating, cooling, power)
Formation divided into 4 modules, modules are composed of 30 h blocks :

High T : Medium Size Solar facilities in Font Romeu-Odeillo
Solar collector test bench Solar cooling plants
Medium size solar furnaces (1 -1.5 kW)
Solar chemical reactor for solar fuels production(1 kW)
