Location: Spain is located on
the Iberian Peninsula. It is in the southwest
of Europe. Spain is bordered by
Portugal, Gibraltar, Andorra and France.
Gibraltar is a waterway that separates Spain from Africa.

Spain has a 7% sales tax on meals.
When tipping a waiter or waitress, they give 5-10% tip of what their bill is.
When tipping a taxi drivers and other people along those lines, they normally give a 5% tip.

FOODSSpaniards start their day with a light breakfast. At breakfast they eat a pastry, or drink
coffee or thick hot chocolate.The main meal of the day is lunch. They call it comida in Spanish. They usually eat comida
at 2 or 3 o’clock everyday.Dinner is eaten at any time between 8pm and midnight.

Retiro Park
Retiro Park is the largest park in central Madrid. Its area is more than 1.4 km² (350 acres). The lake is in the middle of the Park.Rent a rowing boat is popular.

Alfonso XII MonumentA large monument with an equestrian statue of King Alfonso XII
overlooks the lake. The monument, erected in 1922 by King Alfonso's mother, consists of a semicircular colonnade with an equestrian statue
of the King in front.

Crystal Palace is designed in 1887 by Ricardo Velázquez Bosco. Crystal palace can be found at the south-eastern end of the park.It was built in 5
months. 54 m long, 28 m wide and 22.6 m high at its highest part.

La Sagrada Familia
over 2,000,000 visitors a year. Construction started in 1882, still under construction and won't be completed for another 20 / 25 years It is a work of immense proportions.It has a museum and church.

Arc de Triomf This beautiful arch was built for the 1888 Universal Exposition, by artist Josep Vilaseca i Casanovas. The Arc de Triomf served as the exposition's main entrance. The arch is located between Passeig de Lluís Companys and Passeig de Sant Joan.
