Methods of UHMWPE processing at KP Works

• Hot pressing (compression sintering)

• RAM extrusion. Bars, pipes, rods are produced by the extrusion method. The solid-drawn pipes obtained are used as pulp guiding pipes in loading/unloading of coal, cement, concrete, mortars. As no algae, crustaceans stick to these pipes, they are highly resistant in seawater, and one can hope for their widely use by oil field and gas field workers in the development of Northern territories and coastal shelf.

• Sputtering (flame sputtering, electrostatic sputtering). The coating obtained is characterized by high impact strength and bending elasticity.

In 2009-2011, Zavod “KP” has collaborated with Krylov SRC under the order of Ministry of industry and trade of Russia within the framework of the Federal target-oriented program for Development of the defence and industry complex of the Russian Federation for 2007-2010 and during the period till 2015: “Establishment of an experimental section for the organization of production of plastic products for hydraulic piping systems, elements of air cleaning systems, de-icing systems and coatings and other products from plastics”.

Testing of the UHMWPE-based polymer coating for reduction of goods freezing-down to the gondola wagon walls has been performed manually on 3 gondola wagons of different year of manufacture.
