Programme Purpose & Objectives
Reduce the disease burden in Southern Africa by increasing access to
affordable, essential medicines.
Inception phase:
Strengthen SADC capacity and demonstrate the value of a regional approach.

Phased Delivery
• Pre-Inception (October 09 – Jan 10)– Work planning for Inception Phase– DFID MoU with SADC Secretariat/ June 2010
• Inception Phase (9 Months from 15 Jan 10)– Establish networks– Start support for implementing SADC PBP– Intensive data collection: PMA, STG study– Build the Business case (including Cost-benefit Analysis) – Detailed implementation planning for Inception Report
