Core group that comes every time. Need to expand. Next year is in Chattanooga, TN. Water resources will help get tours. Suggestions for next year? Need to expand the reach. Possible other networking. Depend on membership to get the word out. Issue is getting the State regulators out. Unable to travel. Treasurer’s Report In checking in with Wells Fargo on our paperwork, I found out that they can’t process our paperwork because we hadn’t registered our corporation/entity with the State of Ga (our state of incorporation) in the past several years. Therefore, our registration with the State has been administratively dissolved. North Carolina Updates ConstructionisstronginNorthCarolina,sothattranslatesintolotsoferosionandsedimentcontrolimplementationacrossthestate.Theentirestatehasexperiencedgoodrainfallandsoilmoistureconditionstopromotepermanentvegetationestablishmentthroughouttheentire2017growingseason.TheonlyexceptionoccurredincentralNorthCarolinaduringlateJulyandearlyAugustwheremildtomoderatedroughtconditionswerereported.However,heavythunderstormsinmidtolateAugusthavedropped1-2+"eventsoveraveryshorttimeframe.Constructionsiteshaveseenheavyerosionandstresshasbeenplaceduponsedimentcontrolpractices.Reportsfromcontractorsindicatethatworkersandforemenskilledinerosionandsedimentcontrolarebecomingmoreandmoredifficulttohire.Ourindustrywilllikelyneedmoretrainingopportunitiesforworkersenteringourscopeofpractice.NorthCarolinaandothersoutheasternstateshavegoodtrainingvenuesforthistargetaudience.NCSUcontinuestooffererosionandsedimentcontrol/stormwatertrainingandcertificationforcontractors,consultants,andpersonnelworkingonNCDOTprojects.Sincetheprogramstartedin2006,over10,000haveattendedthetraining.FolksworkinginotherconstructionsectorsoutsideofNCDOTalsoattendthetrainingincluding,municipal,military,power,andsolar.CheckouttheNorthCarolinalinksontheSEIECAchapter'swebpageforupcomingtrainingdates.ConstructionoftwoskimmerbasinslocatedonI-40/440inRaleighprovidesedimentcontainmentduringexcavationandgradingofthisinterchange.PhototakeninAugust2017.

Florida Updates There will be a Muddy Water Blues at Kissimmee, FL on Sept. 28th, 2017. This an outdoor technology transfer showing the real BMPs provided by several vendors and suppliers from all over the Southeast Chapter. This will be a FREE event with no cost for the attendees. Also, there will be a two day class in Florida Stormwater Erosion and Sedimentation Control Inspector's Qualification class on Sept. 27 and 29th. This class will be a FREE event with no cost for the attendees. All events and classes will be hosted by Osceola County, Florida.
