Message from The President

Hello Ladies of the SWC!

As I sat to write my last message as president, I began to reflect on the past

year. The year flew by so quickly and it turned out to be everything I did not

expect.

I didn’t expect to enjoy being president and I did.

I didn’t expect to feel a sense of pride to the extent that I do towards the

2019 board for being so committed, loyal and creative and I do.

I didn’t expect so many things but most of all I didn’t expect to make so

many wonderful new friends and I did.

That is the essence of the Southbridge Women’s Club. I have realized that

when you get involved, good things happen. I guess SWC Founder, Kathy

Viall knew what she was doing 10 years ago when she started this amazing

organization to link so many amazing women!

You will see me around as I plan to stay on the board and continue to help

improve the SWC in any way that I am asked. Next year, with Susan Terry

as president, I am confident that the Southbridge Women’s Club will

continue to grow and flourish.

As I say goodbye, I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, Happy

Hanukkah and Happy New Year from my home to yours.

GOOD LUCK TO OUR NEW BOARD! You’ll get to know these fabulous

ladies in the next newsletter.

The Southbridge Garden Club met in November at the home of Mary Williams for our annual wreath fluffing and bow making. This is always a fun event for socializing and getting us in the holiday spirit. This year we will be adorning the Southbridge entrances with a record 40 wreaths and 62 bows. We hope you all enjoy the decorations.

November’s outing brought us to River St. for an evening of lights and dinner. One member, Debra Niven, describes it best :

“It was a cold, dark night in old Savannah, when only the brave took to the streets to fight the rain and bitter wind slapping the faces of the lovely ladies, weighed down by their cameras and coats”. Fun was had, memories were made. If you missed it you may be smarter, but we have lived on the wild side more than thee! Love, Joy, Peace and Happiness to all!

Gabby Gourmet 1 enjoyed a delicious luncheon at the Atlantic Restaurant with chef Jason Restivo opening the restaurant for us!

you can still do so.

Funds are still needed for clubhouse and

As of November 26th, of the 299 people who pledged to purchase shares, 70 have failed

to remit their checks. There are many others who reduced their pledge amounts.

As of now we have failed to reach our minimum requirement of $2.25 million to purchase

the course, make needed repairs, purchase needed equipment and hire necessary staff.

If we have not reached this goal in about two weeks, we will be out of time and funds, and

will be forced to lock doors and close the golf club.

If you made a pledge and have not remitted it, now is the time.

If you need the signature forms, go to www.saveourcourse.com and click on the ‘Subscription

Booklet’ tab, or simply take your check to golf club and they will print the signature pages that

you need to sign and submit with your check. Shares are $5000 each, sellable and transferrable.

If you have not bought shares, you still have this opportunity. PLEASE reconsider so that we

can remain Southbridge Golf Community. Each share is $5,000 - a small amount to invest in

order to save your property value by saving the golf club.
