South Wagga Public School Ski Team A few SWPS parents are investigating the possibility of putting a team of students together to compete in the NSW Interschool championships in 2015. We need at least four students who can ski a slalom course to make up a team (we can enter more than one team if we have the interest). Students can also participate on an individual basis to represent SWPS. The ACT-Southern NSW Interschools Championships is held in Perisher around the last week of July each year. The NSW State Interschools Championships is held in the third or fourth week of August. This event alternates yearly between Thredbo and Perisher. Of course all lift ticket, accommodation, travel expenses would be at the cost of the entrant (fundraising to cover some costs may be an option depending on the level of interest we generate). There may also be opportunities to run a few team training sessions at Mt Selwyn in the lead up to the Championships. Race entry fees are $40 per race, per competitor. There is a once only annual registration fee of $30 that is due at the Regional Championships. The fee includes event insurance, administration costs and non-voting membership of NSW Snowsports or SnowSports ACT. Please note that the entry fees do not include your lift ticket. For further information and to register your interest in this initiative, please contact Genevieve Fleming on 0414 848 846 or email [email protected]

P &C News Welcome to 2015! Thank you to the fabulous P&C and to everyone who contributed to the incredible success of raising $25000 last year!

This helped fund new playground equipment, classroom supplies, the operation of the South Wagga Canteen which is managed by the P&C, support sporting activities, and much more. I am privileged to volunteer with such an amazing and dedicated group of parents and grandparents.

The first P&C meeting for 2015 is

Wednesday, 18 February 7pm Staffroom

These meetings are for everyone involved with the school. They are an opportunity for parents and carers to help plan and guide things such as the selection of special projects, enhancements to make activities and events to plan, and help support the school and staff with the amazing job they do with education of our children. It is a fantastic opportunity to have your say and to help contribute to the school community, for all our children. We look forward to seeing as many members of the school community as possible, and all new parents to the school are welcome.

Please also note in your diaries

Wednesday 18 March 2015 P &C AGM 7pm

If you would like to chat about the P&C or ask any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. My contact details are available from the school office. We look forward to seeing you on the 18th!
