GMIT Students’ Union warns students to take security precautions

In light of the recent burglaries in the Renmore area, GMIT SU is urging all students to ensure they keep their doors and windows closed and locked and to remain mindful of the dangers of leaving their properties exposed and unattended.

Students should also contact their landlords to ensure the necessary security mechanisms are in place to protect their rented properties from potential burglary.

GMIT Students’ Union President Joe O’Connor said:

“It is clear from the incidents of the past few days that students returning to college are being targeted by burglars, and it is vital that all students take any relevant precautions to protect themselves, their properties and their possessions over the coming weeks.

We would urge any students who may have information on the incidents which have taken place to contact ourselves here in the Students’ Union or the Garda Siochana immediately.”

QuickiesOne day, a man came home and was greeted by his wife dressed in a very Sexy nightie. ‘Tie me up,’ she purred, ‘and you can do anything you want.’ So he tied her up and went golfing.

A woman came home, screeching her car into the driveway, and ran into the house. She slammed the door and shouted at the top of her lungs, ‘Honey, pack your bags. I won the lottery!’ The husband said, ‘Oh my God! What should I pack, beach stuff or mountain stuff?’ ‘Doesn’t matter,’ she said. ‘Just get out.’

Mother Superior called all the nuns together and said to them, ‘I must tell you all something. We have a case of gonorrhea in the convent.’ ‘Thank God,’ said an elderly nun at the back. ‘I’m so tired of chardonnay.’
