Acceptance of God• Surrender one’s whole life to God; develop a relationship with Jesus Christ; and

allow the Holy Spirit to work in one’s life.I think that this goal is number one for a reason. It tells us we need to first be able to

have a relationship with God. We must surrender our whole life to Him. This way when we are able to accept Him we are allowing the Holy Spirit to work in us. In the class this year we had prayer every morning. We gave our prayer requests on Monday morning. If you wanted to share or if you just asked for a simple thank you or talked about it we did something about it. I think that this is how we allowed Jesus in our class. I know that it isn’t the only way but it is one of them. I think this goal has to be able to start in the students’ own heart. I think that in the year/ semester we addressed this issue. We have a prayer room for just the sophomore class and one for AE-21 too. This allows us to say our praise and to talk about our prayers. I think this allows for self-acceptance and for others who learn from others. I think that this is a wonderful way of exercising this goal. It allows for others to help and understand their classmates. I think that at the beginning of the year I didn’t know that this was possible, but now here at the end. I see that the Lord had a plan and this is what will happen and allow us to live with him through our relationship that was built this year. I think that God had a plan and through this year it was starting to get accomplished and it soon will be in the rest of my life.

Bible Journals

Commitment to the Church• Desire to know, live and share the message and mission of the Seventh-day

Adventist ChurchI think at the beginning of the year I was at the beginning of this. I think I knew

and I almost shared, but I don’t think I was to the full capability. I think that this goal has helped me in doing Bible. In our lessons we studied how missionaries went over seas and they shared the message with others. I think that more and more people do these things now a days. I think that these lessons helped me realize that we must live and share the message as if that was the only thing we knew. I think in the future this goal will allow me to be able to be anything that Jesus wants me to be. I think that this goal will help me as I live with my Lord and Savior.

I think this goal means to me that I must be a missionary. Then again I think it means exactly what it says. Commitment to the Church. I think we all must really appreciate what the Lord does for us and allows us to do. I think that sharing the message is sharing the blessing. Witnessing is so varied. It allows many people to express what the Lord has done for them. I think that this way of witnessing is the way the Lord desires it. As you go through your life I think that you should share the message with all you come to. In our bible lessons we learned about the mission of the Seventh-day-Adventist church. We did retells on them and they all were wonderful. This is what commitment to the Church means to me I think that we should be more willing to do what the Lord asks.

Intrapersonal Relationships

• Develop a sense of self-worth, skills in interpersonal relationships, an understanding of the responsibilities of family membership and the ability to respond with sensitivity to the needs of others.

I think at the beginning of this year I didn’t know what exactly this goal was talking about. I will explain what I found out this year. I think I didn’t know how to be responsible to a certain extinct. I think that as the year progressed I had a feeling of self-worth, not just in school but at home also. I think that I am sensitive to others needs however maybe just not all the time. I didn’t really understand this goal till recently. The research paper that I did on Servant Leadership helped me understand to be considerate. As I did this paper I realized that everybody not just me or not just the leaders of the world or of a big company. I realized that we all are servant leaders to whom ever we work for. For example a Farmer works for the people who buy food he serves them. I think many people don’t exactly know how to do this. I mean I was able to have sensitivity to all the people that I encountered. I think through this experience I was able to understand why we must have intrapersonal relationships. We must be able to know what it means or have an idea of what it means. I think that I didn’t know about this until recently when my paper was completed and also after my ADRA leadership assignment. I think that in the future I will have a complete understand of how to encourage others and myself to have a sense of self-worth. I think this is important along with the skills of this kind of relationship.

Servant Leadership

Responsible Citizenship

• Develop an understanding of cultural and historical heritages, affirm a belief in the dignity and worth of others and accept responsibility for local, national and global environments.

I think at the beginning of the year I was a little not knowing what this goal really meant. I think that I didn’t have much of a clue at all. I think as time went on I started to learn a little more about it. It actually started to make a little sense. I think that this was a little baffling. Nonetheless as time went on I found out what it meant. I think the assignment that has helped me move forward in reaching this goal is ADRA leadership. I have learned so much from this assignment. I was able to send an email to a country leader in Azerbaijan. I think this assignment was able to let us all know the worth of other in different environments than us. I think that many people don’t know this and they need to know this to understand it. The leader I had was Randy Purviance. He was extremely helpful in helping me answer the questions that I had regarding servant leadership. I think in the future I will be able to help others understand just as Randy had helped me. I think that I will be able to at least have little responsibility for local environments or national environment. I think the more I am exposed the more help I will be able to give. I think this goal means that we aren’t just a citizen in our country. We want to see our country get better and have a better since of citizenship and allow us to live since we have a sense of dignity to others.

ADRA Leadership

Healthy Balanced Living• Accept personal responsibility for achieving and maintaining optimum

physical, mental and spiritual health.I think that at the beginning of the year I knew that everybody must have

personal responsibility for their self. I think that many people don’t know exactly what this meant. I think the distribution of the goal helped others realize what they must do to have a health balanced living. Throughout this year I think I had tried to achieve optimum in my health, but I don’t think I have actually reached it. I think the assignment that helped me through this would be our bible journals. They made us think physically, mentally, and spiritually. I think in time I came to appreciate this goal. I think I had an almost somewhat healthy balanced living. I think that as the time went farther and farther on I had a little sense of what type of healthy balanced living I could have. I think that I made an effort in trying to get it to work. I think that I was able to know what was happening. I think that these bible journals helped me to know that I could achieve and maintain that optimum in my health. I think that it allowed me to know that I could do it and all I had to do was believe in me. I think this is where. I had a sense of knowing come up on me. I was able to realize it is possible for me to have a healthy balanced living. I think that through this year I did realize it but I don’t think I have made action upon it yet. I think that in the future since I know how to get a Healthy Balance Living. I think I will be able to have one and to share with others how to get one.

Thesis and Outline

Intellectual Development• Adopt a systematic, logical and biblically-based approach to decision-

making and problem-solving when applied to a developing body of knowledge.

I think at the beginning of the year I had a little developing body of knowledge. I know that as you go through life you learn more and more. I learned a bit this year. I learned in my journals how to be logical and how to be decisive in all ways in life. I think what helped me the most was the HOM and CLQ. Each unit sometimes each week we had a different one to write about. I learned a lot about being tactful and being honest. I mean it helped me in being able to make decision and to apply it to problem-solving. I think this is how you become intellectual. You have to be logical. I think even our Food for Thoughts helped us in this direction. I mean we had intelligent people summing up what tactful was in one or two sentence. I think these helped me because every week there would be different ones even some from my fellow classmates as well as me too. I think this allowed everybody to view others viewpoints on what they thought about what was asked. I think the more and more we thought about them the more and more they developed into something bigger than what they already were. I think in the future I will have a logical mind and able to be approach problems and be able to understand what it all means and able to make sense to others as well as my self. I think that we all have the ability to be intellectual. However some of us aren’t even willing to try for some reason or another. We have to be willing to try to be able to be intellectual and get into our developing stage.

HOM/CLQ

Communications Skills• Recognize the importance of effective communication and develop the

requisite skills.I think that at the beginning of the year. I had little communication skills. I didn’t

know many people from the program except some from last year. I think that I had a little of the basic skills of communication. I think that the sophomore lounge this year has help me to communicate effectively this year. I also think that our retell assignments help to communicate more with others. This ways when it is communicated well we have a wonderful retell. We are able to tell everybody what we learned from our lessons that week. I liked the retell that we did just after the ADRA presentation from the leaders. I think this especially helped us in all we did that week. I think that the main thing that is being said in this goal is that we have to have the basic skills of communication to know how do it effectively. I think many people know how to communicate but they don’t know how to do it effectively. I think throughout this year I have learned the importance of communication. First you have to be willing to let somebody know when you need help or when you don’t understand. This way they will know when they can help or explain it to you. I know that effective communications involves people from both sides of the track to let them know what it up. I think in the future I will pass this goal and know exactly how to communicate effectively. This way I will have the basic skills and use them on an everyday basis. I hope to have this goal planted in my mind so when I become older I will know exactly how to us my skills to be effective to any and everybody I come in contact with.

ADRA Leadership

Personal Management• Function responsibly in the everyday world using Christian principles of

stewardship, economy and personal management.I think at the beginning of the year I was in the beginning of this goal. I mean I

thought I functioned responsibly and did what was pleasing in the Lord’s site. I think the assignments that helped me move in accomplishing this

goal were the journals that we have to do. Mrs. Bacon made us think about what we want to say and get it out in a way that allowed us to personalize it

to our own type of management without us evening knowing. I think another assignment would be the legacy project. It allowed us to go out and show stewardship to our community. We were able to let somebody know that we cared for them and somebody always was thinking of them. I know

that this is preparing us for the end. I think it allowed us to know that we have a chance to change our future if we put our minds to it. As time went on through this year I think everybody knew how to manage themselves.

They were able to know what to do and what not to do. I also know that this goal helped them get ready for what will come. I think this goal also has a

lot to do with self management. I don’t think people understand the importance of that. I think in the future this goal that we learned this year will help us dearly in the future. I know it is not that far away and we do need to know a little more about this goal. However, I think that it has

helped us already and it will continue to help us. I think the key to this goal is to use the Christian principles everyday. Many people don’t but this is

what the goal is all about. I think that the more you use them everyday the better management over yourself you will have.

Aesthetic Appreciation

• Develop an appreciation of the beautiful, both in God’s creation and in human expression, while nurturing individual ability in the fine arts.

At the beginning of the year I think that we had a little appreciation for aesthetic. I mean we knew from previous being taught about this in our bible classes. I

think that the assignment or assignments that helped me in reaching this goal was world geography on the dynasty from China, and the ones on the

renaissance. These ones helped me to move in the ability to appreciate what the Lord allows people to be able to express what they think about it. These

assignments have helped me appreciate art in a sense. I mean the Ying Dynasty and the other Dynasties made some interesting stuff. At the

beginning of the year I didn’t know all this stuff, but as it progressed I was able to recognize the work even at the Art Museum in Washington D.C. I found some pieces from the dynasties. I thought that was what it was all about. I think that in the future I will have an appreciation for fine arts and human

expression. I think I will be able to know what it is. I know I already have an appreciation for nature outside. It is a beautiful key to what the Lord wants us to know. I think to obtain this goal you must have the goals before it to know the true meaning of what the Lord wants to offer His children. To able to be able to have a true appreciation for God’s creation is to be able to know that the Lord made everything for a purpose and even we are one of his beautiful creations. So go and appreciate whatever you see and come in contact with.

Career and Service• Develop a Christian work ethic with an appreciation for the dignity of service.

I think at the beginning of the year I had a little work ethic for dignity and all that good stuff. However, through the community service that was done for this year I think it made it even more that what I had. This year we had a legacy project and we had to do community service. We had to leave a type of legacy when we did our project also. I choose to volunteer at a nursing home. I was able to

help the activity department there. I carried books around to the residents there that were alert and some that weren’t. I enjoyed every minute I was there. I made some friends as I worked there also. There are many sweet people

there. I think this year I was able to go the extra mile in community service. I was able to show people in my community that I cared about them and that there is someone there for them. I think this is important and many people

need to know this. I think that I learned that wherever you work you are serving others. That is what we do. We go to work to make sure that others are

satisfied. This is the goal in everything and we have to accomplish this goal as we go through life. I think in the future this goal has helped me make a good

work ethic. I am able to know what its all about. I think that this is what is important. I think that when you work anywhere you have to have a sense that you are almost like a servant you are there to serve others. I think that many people don’t understand what it means to do this. If we are able to let people

know that they will have as much fun working as they do when they are.

Legacy Project

Legacy ProjectMy legacy Project was working at a nursing home. It was fun. I

really liked what I was doing. I enjoyed the people and they said they enjoyed me. What I did during my legacy project was volunteering in the Activity Department. I would help with games, and visit some of the people and other things like that. The way I left a legacy was because the elderly in the nursing home were very nice and remembers stuff and everything. There is one lady that I met that was very nice to me. She in fact was like a friend that I visited every time I was there. I gave her the welcome balloons and I also gave her Birthday balloons. I had a nice time while I was there. I was hoping that they would have hired me to work there too but they haven't. I'm trying to get another job though. I liked it there; it was fun and interesting to me. I wouldn't mind going back. I think that I had an effect on the people there also. There was also another person who was always saying hi and stuff to me. She even remembered my name. I had so much fun with everything. It was so nice. I think that if I had a choice I would do it again.

Journal FFT

My food for thought: As we become more tolerant, we will be like God.

Well I really just thought about this and it came to like mind. With Like or As in comparing. I think that with God we are more tolerant, so the more we practice tolerance we become like God. This is my thought about this and I did however take about 5 minutes to write and think this.

Journal ContinuedJournal FFT "Life is short and it's up to you to make it sweet" I

think this one goes with the CLQ. I think this one make generosity jump out at you. Everybody knows that life is short. It is up to you to be generous to people. We all know that this is a Christ like Quality. This FFT will put in my mind that everyday is a gift. During the day you should be able to make it sweet as in doing something for somebody else. Everyday I will do something for somebody to make his or her day sweet and mines too. I think this will allow my future to be sweeter than sweet. "The errors to avoid are those that eliminate opportunities to try again." I think that this one refers to the HOM. I think I did this FFT before because I remember hearing it. To be persistent we must do things until they are done right. This is why I liked this one I mean we can't be persistent if we don't try again so we must not have these errors that can't let us try again. It will change the way I live because if I am able to avoid these errors there will not be anyway that I can't be persistent. This way I will be able to show that in the future I will be persistent. I think it will allow me to think before I do something as I go through my life.

HOM/CLQHOM: Thinking about thinking

CLQ: HonestyI really don’t understand what thinking of thinking really is. Maybe

by chance it is your thoughts that aren’t really becoming into words. It also could be what you are thinking about what you are going to talk about. I am not sure really to explain this. I am not even sure if I know what I am saying. I think it could be how we think. Maybe it is our pattern of thinking. Honesty is how we think in our mind. It may not come out, but it is the truth. That is how I tie thinking about thinking with honesty. I am unsure as to how to actually do this. I think that our honesty in our thinking is maybe how blunt we are. I mean if we are really blunt we are being honesty about what we are thinking about although this isn’t exactly out of our minds yet, just in our habits or in our pattern of thinking. I think this is so very true. If you were able to understand what I am saying exactly or maybe if you had a glimpse at what I was thinking, you would know exactly what thinking about thinking really is. Then once you see you would understand.

Servant Leadership

World History

Journal – WH (4-08) This was talking about what happened at Tiananmen Square.

As most of you know WE are calling for a democracy. I mean why can't we? We live in her too yet we really have no right or anything like that. I don't think this makes no type of sense to me. I see people getting wounded left and right. WHAT FOR? I want to know. The police killing them don't solve a thing. More and more people come out. I think that maybe we should go about this a different way, but I think it will all be fine in due time. Deng is encouraging free enterprise, yet he doesn't grant political freedom. This makes no sense can someone please explain it to me??!?!?!?!!??

II. Conclusion – Thesis restated

Bible JournalsJournal Bible AA.)Which facet of this mission do you think is most important? Why?

I think the fact that everybody around the world is hearing the message. I think it is most important because this way more people are able to go to heaven I guess you can say. I just think this is one of the most important things. It also allows them to be blessed in hearing the message.

B.)Do you think the lesson author has overlooked any important part of the church's mission? If so, what is it? Why do you think it's important?I think the basically the lesson was talking about the technology in which the gospel is preached. I think that the author might have just slightly overlooked the power missionaries have. I know it was mentioned but it didn't really talk about it. I think this is important because them just seeing it may not necessarily change them. When you have a missionary in the country it helps people in there everyday life. I think it is important just as much as people listening to it.

Bible Journals continuedJournal Bible B

I'm not sure what I would really say to make it more effectively accomplish the mission. I think that maybe we should send pastoral missionaries to baptize the others. I think that this is important because in Matthew 28:20 it tells us to preach the gospel to all nations and we also must baptize them in the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Ghost. I think some of the drawbacks might be that some don't want to be baptized. I'm not sure how I could implement it.

Journal Bible CI personal don't think it uplifts Jesus more. I think they kind of stress more of the laws of the bible. I think they should stress how much we must have a relationship with Jesus to be able to go to heaven. I think we kind of emphasize it less but then again some churches emphasize it more. I know like from my church we listen to what the Ellen G White says and so on. I think that we need to get back to how it should be. We need to lift up Jesus as it says in the bible I'm not sure where but it goes something like: If I be lifted up I will draw all men unto me. I think that it needs to be corrected but I'm not sure if it will actually work though.

1.) I think it is because he believed that you had to have faith to have righteousness. He also believed that you had to keep the law so I think he didn’t agree with them. I think that is why.2.) I think the New Age is based more on how they feel. I think that most people don’t really think what the law or how others believed was true. They go based on their relationship with God.
