About me

I am a Writer/Editor and have been actively engaged with English language publications and l ifestyle magazines in China, which has been my second home for over 8 years.

After completing my Business Management in India, I have l ived and held various positions in India, Netherlands and China. While learning and applying marketing & communications skil ls in the jobs, I would take initiative and support in-house newsletters, company press releases, HR manuals, PR proposals with different companies, l iaison with media groups.

A few years back I decided to establish myself in the publishing industry and dedicate more time to the art of writing which has been my l ifelong passion. While working in Amsterdam, I started as contributor for the expat magazine ‘Global connection’.

LAST 5 YEARS IN SHENZHEN - I started with active contribution in the English newspaper ‘Shenzhen Daily’, and lead the publication of the popular Expat Lifestyle magazines of South China for 2 1/2 years. I took projects with Discovery publishers HK, and co-edited a travel book and 2city guidebooks (Shenzhen Hikes - A Hiker's Guide, Shenzhen Guidebook), and an International charity cookbook, which was a 2 year project for a great cause. Recently, I headed the team for launching ‘Shenzhen city guide for newcomers’ in 2014.

With 10 years of expatriate experience, bridging cultures has become a way of l i fe for me. Observing people from different backgrounds and cultures, picking those special moments and putting them in to meaningful stories is my forte. That led to the making of the China Photobook – ‘Lost in the middle Kingdom.’

In October 2013, I joined an HK based company, and launched ‘Shenzhener – Business & l ifestyle Quarterly’ in the city. It has been a 24x7 passion, operating and inspiring the team to gather interesting stories, interview top movers & shakers in business, highlight creative events, PR with potential talents, encourage l ifestyle entrepreneurs to voice through our platform, and

create a niche for the magazine. Being able to set the complete vision, from marketing, cover features, interviews, photoshoots, and design of a full 80 pages is an amazing experience. It has successfully completed a year and 4 issues done, the team is proud and in full swing. During these 15 months, my team also planned and executed 3 big events, for strengthening PR and image building of the brand.

I have moved to KL in February 2015, for the next 5 years. I look forward to a future in publications; enhance learnings with newer projects.
