The Bible is the most widely read book in human history. Unfortunately, most of us only know God’s word in bits and pieces but not as a whole. In order for us to grasp the meaning and purpose of scripture we need to read and understand it as a whole. The best way to do that is find a translation that we are comfortable reading and studying. The hope is that at the end of this hour you will know enough about Bible translations to pick one and then open it and begin to read or study God’s word for yourself. 1. Our first task is to understand something of the translations and Bibles available in english. The question we want to answer is what Bible should I pick? 2. Our second task is to learn about personal Bible study. How do I begin to study the Bible for myself?
