A vision of sustainability and environmental responsibilityResource and energy savings are key issues for Brasal. The company’s vision for the future is: “To produce more with the lowest possible consumption of raw materials, water and energy and with minimum impact on the environment.” Brasal has taken steps to reduce consumption of water and has worked with Sidel to achieve resource and energy savings since 1996. The company promotes environmental education, so all employees are aware of conservation issues - both in the factory and in their everyday lives.

'Best In Class' conservation for Brazilian Coca-Cola franchisesDue to these practices, Brasal was named by Coca-Cola Brazil as 'Best in Class' for water consumption. In fact, Brasal recorded the lowest ratio of all plants in Brazil for litres of water used against litres of beverages produced in one month. The company reached this level due to the Sidel Hydra DH2 bottle washer in their Ref PET line (22,000 bph). This offers highly competitive performance in terms of reducing use of water, steam and caustic soda. With the Hydra DH2 bottle washer, Brasal is one of two best Coca-Cola bottlers in the world using 1.14 litres of water per litre of Coca-Cola produced. Brasal used the Ref PET bottle in their processing to minimise the environmental impact of the non-returnable packages, while lowering consumption of natural resource and reducing costs. The plant has five filling lines and two blowing lines to produce CSD, water and tea. The company's most recent order was for a Combi line for CSD with a 24,500 bph output in PET, installed in its plant in Brasilia.
