Concept: FollowingTwitter is as much a listening media as it is a

broadcast media.Twitter feeds are like Headlines in a newspaperTwitter enables you to “Follow” the tweets of

people, news and companies that are of interest to you in your feed.

Use SEARCH to look for people & things that interest you.

Select the ones you like and click FOLLOW. Now their tweets will show in your feed.

Composing a tweetThink about what you need to say succinctlyNormally any tweet you send can be seen by anyoneIf you want to send it to someone specific, use their

address in the tweet. Where you place the @username in the makes a difference to who can see it:If start a tweet with an @username, then only the person

following you and the person you are replying to will see the tweet.

If you place the @mention within the tweet anyone can see this tweet. It will show up in their stream of tweets and they will get an alert to that fact.

RetweetingI told two friends who told two friends….A retweet is a re-posting of someone else's

Tweet.Twitter's retweet feature helps you and

others quickly share that Tweet with all of your followers.

Sometimes people type RT at the beginning of a Tweet to indicate that they are re-posting someone else's content.

ListsA list is a curated

group of Twitter users.

You can create your own lists or subscribe to lists created by others.
