Personal Use of Social Media
• Twitter (@jokrausdu) and FriendFeed. • Use #hashtags to mark a subject, for example.
Good for conference discussion. • Blogs, such as:
– http://www.sciencelibrary.org/ – http://www.nuthingbut.net/ – http://lis4375.wordpress.com/ – http://collaborativelibrarianship.wordpress.com/ – Others…
• Delicious (jokrausdu)
Social Media for the Library
• Blogs such as: – http://library.du.edu/penrosepen/
– http://library.du.edu/goodanswers/
• Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Flickr
How do I manage some of them?
• Hootsuite. Five accounts (One personal, one for Penrose, and three organizational.)
• http://twitterfeed.com/ to feed in blog posts to twitter.
• Only one blog feed is allowed to go into Facebook; we do the Penrose Pen.
• Most are team-based blogs.
