The representation of social groups

How men are represented

• Most of my photographs are of men. They are represented as being strong and stylish.

This is quite stereotypical as all men are seen as the stronger, more dominant gender.

PhotographsFor my photograph on the front cover, the relaxed body language represents the subject as laid back and quite confident. His clothing is smart but casual and the hair compliments this. The photographs represent young people, as the model is quite young and the text shows him to be British as it mentions being up for The Brit awards.

Other social groups

• Quite a few social groups were not represented in my music magazine due to the research I have done shows that the majority of people in the acoustic genre are Caucasian.

Front cover photo

• My research shows that equally both women and men read acoustic magazines. This meant I could use either female or male as the front cover photograph.
