2.720 people registered to participate in the Seminar

1.150 people attended the event, equivalent to 42.28% of those registered

36% of the participants work for companies, 19% in non-profits, 11% are from universities, 6% from the public sector, among others

9.426 accesses via live stream, of which 7.958 accessed the transmission in Portuguese and 1.468 in English

As the graph shows, the majority of participants in the theater were from the State of Santa Catarina (SC), 87% of these were from Florianopolis. 4% were from Rio Grande do Sul (RS) and 4% from São Paulo (SP) 9

an environment for innovation

Along with the theater there were two other spaces: the Digital Media Lounge, inspired by the Social Good Summit and co-working spaces dedicated to bloggers and journalists; and the Community Room for networking, coffee breaks and where the main partners of the program had an area to interact with participants.

65% of the people who responded to the evaluation questionnaire considered the environment and infrastructure of the event as ‘better than expected’.

Facebook is an important social media channel for raising awareness

In February 2012 the Social Good Brazil fan page was created. In August, when the online platform sgb.org was launched we counted 461 fans on our Facebook fan page. We currently count on 13.271 fans, showing the huge development of Social Good Brazil’s presence on Facebook. The outreach of the fan page is 5.324.073 users. The international seminar was a key factor and produced:

360 publications on the wall and 326 correspond to photos posted by the seminar participants via instagram;2741 “likes”328 “shares”

During the seminar, 22% of the mentions of Social Good Brazil on Facebook were related

to the participation of Isadora Faber (the adolescent that created “Diário de Classe”, a Facebook fan page that counts on more than 550 thou-sand fans). Isadora wrote a post about the event that generated more than 24 thousand “likes” and more than 1.200 “shares”.

There was a total of 253 occurrences of the term “Social Good Brasil”, “Social Good Brazil” and “#socialgoodbr” that reached 13.309 people on internet

During the three day seminar, 326 photos were posted

The collective coverage of the event was widely spread through social networks and generated an important positive “buzz” for the event. For example, a mention on the Rio+Social Facebook fan page put a good word in for the event to its more than 28.000 fans

YouTube and SlideShare, as web sources of relevant content

It is important to stress the strong presence of SGB on SlideShare. The SGB channel uploaded 33 presentations, including the ones used by the speakers. Some of them count on more than 1.000 views

The YouTube SGB channel has interviews, videos talking about the concept of social good and stories aired on TV. Also, all the speeches and panels were recorded and uploaded on the channel in English and Portuguese and the views have grown impressively. The most viewed video is the one that introduces the concept of social good (665 views), followed by the interviews with Peter Sims and Simon Mainwaring.

Bloggers invited to the seminar and volunteers intensively shared information on SGB. At the seminar, 84 bloggers registered to participate and they were able to use the Digital Media Lounge.

Well known opinion maker bloggers were invited as “Social Good Ambassadors” and “Guests” to share their thoughts on the concept and to participate in the seminar. One blogger was chosen through an online competition before the event and won a trip to Florianópolis to participate in the seminar.

The Festival of Ideas is an initiative of The Ruth Cardoso Center and promotes a co-creation network to find solutions for the challenges of the society

• More than 60 ideas were submitted;• 02 co-creation sessions were hosted in Florianópolis, one of them counting on 32 people and another during the Social Good Brazil Seminar;• 08 finalists were awarded with R$ 3.125,00 each as seed money for them to start put-ting their ideas into practice;• 07 out of 08 finalists considered the experience as “excellent” (maximum score) and 01 of them considered the Festival of Ideas “very good”;• The Festival of Ideas brought a practical aspect to the seminar, inspiring others to be bold and act for a cause they believe in.
