Randy the Guinea Pig

This year we have already added new attractions, including our massively popular Scales and Tails, new summer attractions including Wild West Carnival and loads of activities specifically for our older members.

You will shortly be receiving the Hatton Adventure World annual gift of a calendar. We have changed this slightly this year to include some special Member only discounts and offers to add even more value to your membership. The Calendar will be landing on your doorsteps in November .

We have a very famous male Guinea Pig living at Hatton Adventure World after his story hit the headlines and the coverage went viral reaching every corner of the globe.The two-year-old Guinea Pig, nicknamed Randy, escaped into the female enclosure and mated with 100 females. He is now a father to around 400 babies. He will certainly be a very busy Daddy.

Our special (and new!) members evening in the summer for our over 8's was a resounding success and so we are looking at offering some of these activities throughout the year for all to enjoy.

Exclusive MemberHaunted Halloween Party

Join us on 31st October for the spookiest and most popular Members event of the year – our Exclusive Members Halloween Party. New this year and specially for our over 8's, enter the interactive House of Nightmares and challenge your fears as you move zone by zone through the Living Dead, Snakes Belly and Characters of your Nightmares rooms.

The Eternity Engine will be transformed taking you on spooky adventures and Scary Scales and Terrifying Tails most terrifying creepy crawlies will be out on display. Don't forget to come in your scariest Halloween costume and enter our competition with prizes for the best dressed. After you have encountered this terrifying

world you can enjoy some fun in the Indoor play centre, and don't worry about tea, a hog roast will be available aswell as Snorty's Restaurant will be serving hot meals for both the adults and children. New this year, the Spinning Jenny Bar will be open for drinks and snacks.

Due to the popularity of this event we can invite Members only. You need to register for your FREE tickets on our website www.hattonworld.com. Simplygo to the booking page and book your tickets. Our favourite fluffy and friendly Pig, Snorty is having a Birthday party and would like to invite you to join him and share his Birthday celebrations. He will be hosting a very special disco with children’s entertainment and dancing for everyone.

Keep the children entertained this October half term with a visit to Pumpkin Week. Dare to enter our interactive House of Nightmares, ride the spooky tractor, take part in a Pumpkin Hunt or get creative in our Halloween Pumpkin Carving House.

Only our Intrepid Explorers, 8 years plus, can enter the Room of your worst nightmares and encounter the snakes of Hatton, Dracula and creepy and corruptive clowns.

The Eternity Engine will be transformed taking you on spooky adventures and Scary Scales and Terrifying Tails will be displaying their creepiest of crawlies and this is where you will find our Wicked Witch telling her terrifying tales around the bubbling cauldron.

Head to our fields and pick your very own pumpkin, there’s a FREE pumpkin for every child. Visit Hatton’s Halloween Pumpkin House where you can get creative and carve this into a work of art, with daily prizes for the best carved pumpkin. Our younger guests can take part in our Pumpkin Hunt, spot where all the pumpkins are hidden and you will win a prize.

Christmas is always a magical time at Hatton Adventure World and this year promises to be even better as we transform into an Enchanted Kingdom.

Magical NEW Christmas Experience

From 29th November we will welcome Father Christmas, and his

live reindeer, to his magical grotto. The secret toy shop will again be here and visitors will be given a golden key where they can see the elves making presents and choose a gift of their very own.

This year there will be a full programme of Christmas entertainment including nativity shows, with real animals,

Reindeer Quest and The Wise Men's Falconry Displays.

Zoobee will also be here every day with his special Christmas show and appearances from NEW Christmas characters will be

telling festive tales of yesteryear.

The Shopping Village will also be joining in the festive celebrations and hosting a NEW Christmas market, a Christmas Craft Fayre and a Christmas Food Fayre, plus there will be late night opening until 9pm every Friday in December.

Each new season Hatton Country World is transformed as we dress the attraction in line with the events and activities we have planned. From scarecrows and Easter bonnets to pumpkins and witches, enchanted kingdoms and Christmas grottos. Have you ever wondered about how this happens?

Well it's all down to our very hardworking and experienced Creative Theming Team. Headed up by the talented Richard Poole, the team work endlessly to deliver the wonderful touches that create the overall guest experience.

We asked Richard just how they do it.

How do you come up with new theming ideas for each event?It all start with a brainstorming session with myself and the creative team. Every wacky idea is thrown into the mix and a wish list of ideas is drawn up. The shortlist of ideas is presented to the senior management team together with detailed proposals of what is required in terms of budget and resource.

Once the ideas have been agreed, what happens then?The finished product is entirely built from scratch on site by myself and my team utilising materials from around the site wherever possible. Other materials are sourced from local builders merchants or art and craft

shops. The planning and presentation phase is followed by months of creating, building, painting, varnishing etc.. Until we get the end result that all visitors to Hatton will see.

What is the craziest or most difficult thing that the team has created?It has to be this years halloween props. We're going more crazy in scale of the props and the way we build them, creating the best ever effects.

How long does it take for each events theming to be created?Most of the events we start planning and designing about 9 months in advance, but we actually only spend about 6 weeks per event producing new props and then putting it all together.

Do you have a favourite event that you work upon?Our favourite event of the year is definitely. The whole scale of the project and the crazy ideas we try to put together really make it the most fun. Its also a great way to get in the Christmas spirit.

What is the best thing about your job?The complete variety of projects we do. Everything from building reptile enclosures to haunted houses, wild west saloons and Christmas sleighs. We never quite know what challenge we will be given next.

2015 will be another exciting year for Hatton Adventure World, with even bigger and better attractions giving our Members more to see and do.

Time and time again, feedback from our members is that as your children get older, you would like to see more attractions suitable for the older children. We have listened to this and so are introducing lots of new attractions over the coming months to keep both your younger and older children entertained all year round.

The first of which will be the introduction of Laser Tag after it was SO popular during our special over 8's members evening in the summer. Put on your target vest and grab your infrared laser gun and try to tag your opponents as many times as possible, while avoiding being tagged. It’s a fun, energetic game of skill and determination.

See newborn lambs every day in our Lambing Marquee with Little Bo Peep and Pete the Shepherd. Plus new arrivals in Farmyard Favourites, adventure play and frolicking fun all day long

The NEW Christmas Market will be brimming with masses of wonderful festive gifts, open 10am - 9pm every Friday evening and weekends during December and 18th & 19th December. Guests can enjoy browsing the stalls and relish the FREE festive entertainment including Father Christmas arriving with his reindeer and sleigh at 6pm.

On Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th November Hatton Shopping Village will host a Christmas Craft Fayre with an abundance of handcrafted gift ideas including, ceramics, jewellery, artwork, woodcraft and much more.

The Christmas Food Fayre takes place on 15th & 16 November with the finest of festive fayre on offer. You can sample the delights for FREE including delicious pates, fine
