Success Criteria: I can produce a piece of writing which shows I understand the death row experience

I can show the emotions the death row inmates feel

I can describe the sights and sounds of death row

I can express the thought the death row inmates might be feeling.

You will notice that the young man on death row wrote a letter.

This is what your activity today is- writing a letter to a loved one saying goodbye.

SEEING FOR YOURSELF

You will now see some images from death row. These will help you imagine what it is like.

Now …….You have twenty mins You must write a letter to a loved one at home to

let them know how and when you are going to die. Say whether you want them to attend your death

or not You must either confess to your crime or deny it. You must describe your living conditions and cell Say how you are treated What you are feeling Say any regrets you have Say if you would do things differently You can also tell them your death row meal and

whether you intend to eat it or not. Lastly tell them about what you will miss/not miss

about them
