Glass Apps Smart Glass is a laminated glass product consisting of a Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLC) smart film sandwiched between two layers of glass and two layers of conductive interlayers. The PDLC film is what allows you to change the visual appearance of the glass from opaque to clear on command (or dim anywhere in between). Glass Apps also offers a smart film that can be applied to existing glass. Our UL approved technology provides unprecedented control over the amount of light, privacy and heat that enters a space and is ideal for Residential, Commercial Interior, Retail Store Front, Healthcare and Automotive applications. Glass Apps Smart Glass is available in a variety of shapes, sizes, and compositions.

How it Works?
Glass App Products
• Laminated Smart Glass – Typically used for new construction projects. Switchable film is
sandwiched between two sheets of glass and two sheets of conductive interlayer. Glass can be made to any thickness (i.e. 10mm) and specification required (i.e. tempered, low-e, etc.)
• Adhesive Switchable Film
– Typically used for retrofit applications. Switchable film has an adhesive side that is dry applied to the surface of any glass (similar to a smart phone cover). The film is scratch resistant and easy to install in the field.
• Lamination Switchable Film
– Sold to glass companies that want to buy Glass Apps smart film to laminate glass themselves.

How to Install - Glass
How to Install - Film
1. Requirements: Glass cleaner, dry cloth, gloves, roller, electrical wires, soldering iron, silicone, and tape.
2. Thoroughly clean the glass surface. 3. Peel the contact side’s protective film halfway and then attach the film to the glass (do not allow contaminants get in between the film & the glass).
4. Slowly peel off the rest of the protective film using the roller to remove air pockets.
5. Continue to push air pockets out using the roller (be careful not to damage the electrical leads)
6. Solder on the electrical wires to the copper meshes and secure the wires in place.
How to Install - Film
7. Remove the outer surface’s protective film using tape (never use your fingernails).
10. Install the electrical lead cover.
8. Cover the electrical leads using silicone 9. Connect the power and test the film
11. Check the film for normal operation.
