SKILLS DEVELOPMENT Survey Monkey- Throughout the primary research and planning stage of my music magazine, I used the website Survey Monkey for the first time to collect information about my target audience.

SurveyMonkey is a web survey company which uses the internet as it’s media platform, providing users with a product to design, analysis and complete surveys. It was founded in 1999 and now 14 years on has over 15 million users and has established itself as a successful well known company throughout the globe.

I used this website because- Of it’s simplicity - Clear layout which made it easy for me to

create my survey. - To discover and see if this tool is usual when

carrying out my primary research

MY SURVEYOnce I had completed my survey, I sent it out via facebook and managed to get a large sample of 32 responses, of all ages and genders. Achieving this meant I was able to get accurate results and therefore my magazine wouldn’t be bias towards one age or gender.

I included nine questions in my survey ranging from music taste to ideal prices. Looking back now, I feel the weakness of my survey is that I didn’t include many questions about their lifestyle so wasn’t able to include as much detail as I liked in my audience profile. However, after asking my candidates questions in person, I feel I have a good idea of their lifestyle.

Once my survey had been completed, survey monkey interpreted some of my questions and turned them into graphs so I could analyse the results. I found this tool a particularly useful tool and real help.
