MODA VERA Passion 100g 100% Acrylic Up to 32 colours available SIZE Fits head - 56cm WHAT YOU’LL NEED • ‘Moda Vera’ Passion 100g balls Style A – Striped x 1 ball each C1 (1st Colour 06) C2 (2nd Colour 26) C3 (3rd Colour 05) C4 (4th Colour 17) Style B – Single Colour x 2 balls • 1 pair 7.00mm knitting needles • Scissors • Yarn needle • Tape measure • Cardboard TENSION 10.5 sts x 22 rows to 10cm over garter st, using 7.00mm needles. To work a tension square, use 7.00mm needles, cast on 15 sts and work 32 rows garter st. Cast off loosely. Check your tension carefully. If less sts use smaller needles, if more sts use bigger needles. HAT (Worked sideways) STYLE A - Striped Using 7.00mm needles and C1, cast on 34 sts. ** Work 4 rows garter st. 5th Row: Knit to last 3 sts, turn. 6th Row: Knit to end. Rep 5th and 6th rows once more (turning within the row creates a decorative hole in the fabric). Work 4 rows garter st across all sts. 13th Row: Knit to last 3 sts, turn. 14th Row: Knit to end. Rep 13th and 14th rows once more. Work 4 rows garter st across all sts. ** Rep from ** to ** using C2, then using C3, then using C4. Cast off loosely. TO MAKE UP DO NOT PRESS. Using mattress st, sew cast on edge to cast off edge. Using running st, gather shorter edge, pull up tightly to form crown and fasten off securely. Using all 4 colours together wind yarn around a 15cm wide piece of cardboard 6 times. Tie together at one edge, cut yarn at other edge. Fold in half at knotted end. Wrap a length of yarn around tassel 5cm below fold and fasten securely. Trim neatly. Attach to centre of crown. STYLE B – Single Colour Work as for Style A, working in single colour throughout.
