My Notes Now

I always know exactly:

- what I was thinking

- what it felt like

One look and I remember the topic + main points + what I liked/disliked

• http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dual-coding_theory - from Alan Paivio (1971)

• Main points:

• visual and verbal information are processed along distinct channels

• mental images help learning

• both visual and verbal codes can be used when recalling information

• Research and “cheating” (looking up how to draw this or that)

• Actual drawing or sketchnoting

• Tools/Apps I like:

Hypothesis #1:

In the Agile world, visualizing ideas is becoming more and more popular in general

There's value in quick learning, quick recalling, quick explaining

Sketchnotes are like mindmaps

Hypothesis #2:

In the "Age of Distraction" and social media, it's good to:

- stay focused and extract key ideas

- share your original ideas/notes and improve your "virtual persona"

Hypothesis #3:

A lot of IT companies are looking for creativity when hiring new people

!

Sketchnotes stand as proof that we are not afraid to be wrong and we can come up with original materials and ideas

BUT... I CAN'T DRAW!

Going back to:

CHILDREN NEVER SAY THEY CAN'T DRAW

The right question is not "How creative are you?”

!

but !

"How are you creative?"
